Destroyed head (whats next)

I just got all my mods on my car including a 2g mani and a fresh 20g and tial 35mm. I was leaving my friends house and somehow my timing belt slipped a tooth bending many valves on my fresh head and cracking some lifters and scoring my cams. I now have the choice to go with a stage 2 head but do not feel like investing the money if I can get away wth a stage 1 head with mild porting for like $650 whereas a stage 2 wold run about $1050. How far can you go with the stock head as far as needing a stage 2.

Check out www.rnrracing.com I think they are around 6-700 for a complete rebuild and stage 2 porting.

As a variety of people here have recently observed, porting is not necessarily the right thing to do to the DSM head, and it's really not necessary at anything less than absurd power levels at all.

So, I should just get a stock head with everyting fresh again and save the money.

You could buy another head from a junkyard and have a valve job done before you put it on the car.

I think when my head problems took place I only had to spend around 700 total.

Buy a full upper head set form conicelli mitsubishi, and then you should pay around 150 for the valve job.

Other little stuff like new timing, belt tensioner, balance shaft eleminator kit adds up too.

Yeah, I have another complete head with like 150k on it that I could have rebuilt but im just looking for the right people to do it and the right price and what is the best type of rebuild.
