Hey everyone. Here's my story. Two days after I got my '90 TSi AWD I became another timing belt victim.
But, since that cold January night I have been coming back strong. My new setup has come together with the following:
Garrett T3/T04E
IRC race core kit
alum radiator w/ SPAL fans
2g ported ex mani
ported in mani
ported tb
jdm ported head with 3-angle valve job
jdm cams and gears
ss swirl valves
stiffer valve springs
titanium retainers
larger bore lifters
je 8.5's
carrillo rods
arp bolts and studs all around
dejon 3.5" intake
magnecore 8.5 wires w/ denso iridiums
charged air fpr
rc 550's
walbro 255
manual boost controller
S-AFC 2
Autometer boost, a/f, egt, fuel press
and more...(sorry for the long list)
This is my first DSM and I have been reading countless tidbits of information on them. I feel I've put together a pretty good setup. I am currently in the process of putting everything together and aiming to drop the motor in within the next week and a half.
My question is this. I seems that probably the weakest link in my setup is my fuel system. Would it be a better investment to turn around and sell my 550's for something a little bigger? I guess I was planning to get the most out of my built motor and much bigger turbo. I would appreciate any suggestions or comments. Thanks in advance guys.
