I never really here of anyone running HKS turbos, i was just curios if they had a bad reputation or something, or if its just because the insanely overpriced...but i was looking at them and i was acctually thinkin about purchasing the GT2835R...heres a link for the specs on it...

I've never seen this turbo on a DSM before, i was just curious if you guys think there would be a great deal lag, or if it wouldn't give alot of top end HP? I think this would be a great turbo...anyway any input would be greatly apprciated!

BTW - I have a 97 GS Spyder, building a 6 bolt 4G63 for it, i plan on going with a buschur stage 3 block and head or a Magnus 2.4L hybrid, not too sure yet, but i'm definently, using HKS 272 Cams, HKS adjustable cam gears, custom 3" intake and exhaust, Buschur TB, Buschur sheet metal intake manifold, HKS blow-off valve, wastegate, F-con S pro, Custom FMIC, so i think i should have enough power to spool that turbo, just like some other views on it, thanks again

Yea i like the a quick spooling turbo, that has good top end, I'd go with a 20G but i'd like to get a ball-bearing turbo, just because i like to be diffrent, Thanks for the reply!

Those are Garrett GT's sold by HKS. By far the best turbos available today. FP, PTE, AGP, VictoryPerformance, Buschur, AMS, CTC and Slowboy all sell turbine housing copies cast with the Mitsubishi flange in order to use the GT wheels and ball bearing cartridge. Back in the old days they used to graph the GT wheels and cartridge into a Mitsubishi turbine housing. Just get a new exhaust manifold and a pocketfull of cash and run the complete GT turbo instead. And yeah, get the stroker motor too, cause you got some tranny breaking to do.
 
Tranny Breaking....uhhh no thanks....but i know if i bought the 2.4L i know id have no prob spooling that turbo, and they do cost about the same, and the 8500 redline is nice...humm...maybe just maybe....Has anyone ever run a Magnus Motor, just curious if there reliable, i dont wanna have to rebuild it every 6 months....Any input on Magnus would be greatly apprecaited! Thanks for the reply!

HKS has a much larger selection of wheel combinations that are available to them. From what I've heard Garrett has not yet released the full line of Ballistic Concept BB wheels to the open market yet. Maybe HKS has some sort of exclusive rights contract with them for a certain time period.
 
thanks for the link i'll have to keep up on that project and see how they like it....i'm definently buying an HKS GT2835 turbo...not to sure on the specs yet, but since they dont make a kit i'll have to custom build one....but for me to do that i'd need the engine which i wont have the money for until probably may, i'm still deciding on an engine...either the magnus hybird, or the Buschur Stage 3, since i'm closer to Buschur i'll probably go with them, and i think that the buschur engine might be better for a daily driven car, but i'm still looking for more info on the magnus engine, so if anyone has run or knows someone that has run that piticular engine if you could let me know how it performs, well thanks for all the replies Happy motoring!
