Sounds sweet? what are the specs on the turbo and do you have any pics? I cant decide what turbo to go with because of my FWD what caused you to pick a 18g? just want to find the best turbo I can for my application.

The reason I picked the 18g was that I wanted something bigger than the 16 to make up for the a/t. I loose a little more hp with it so this will hopefully make that up. here are a few pics, not sure if they will come out but if not just check out my photos on this gallery there are a few there.

18G is probably one of the biggest wastes of money you can spend on a DSM. Buy a 20G internally gated for the same amt. or a little less, and get much better performance. Only a handful of guys have gone 11's on an 18G, while LOTS of guys have gone 11's on a B16G. The # of people in the 11's on a 20G is large.

Slap it on, go have fun. If it were my $1000, I would have gotten a new td05h 20G for $825, clipped it 23 degrees for $75, bought a Tial 35mm external gate and mounted it on the manifold for about $300. That's just an extra $200 more for a LOT more turbo/boost control. But, that's me. 18G isn't run much out there by the DSM guys because there are bigger/better things to spend your $1000 on, namely a 20G.

Not to whore the thread...but thats the exact setup I just ordered, except the 20g is a TD06 clipped 10deg:p

Guess I should throw this out and go get some wire loom and wooden spoiler!!!! Maybe even an electric turbo or the electric sounding BOV.

I decided on the 18g since I have an a/t and wanted something a little bigger than the 16 but did not want something huge or not very streetable. I also like to have things that everyone and there brother does not have. Not too much heard about the 18 so I figured I would give it a try.

Not sure why you want to know how old I am but I am 25. I like long walks on the beach and candle light dinners. any other questions? :D

Its really not that bad of a deal. Turbos aren't exactly lightweight, and the accessories don't come free either...I think you made out pretty well.

That's a sweet deal if you ask me... I got an AT also so I feel your pain...:D
 
well my cousin got an 18g also and the reason he deicded to go with an 18g instead of a 20g is 1s of all he got a great deal on the turbo, it was a friend of mine tat he had gotten it from and second of all he didnt want to repair on his tranny, with the amount of power tat a 20g pushes out he doesnt have money to repair the transmission. he wanted something about big16g and so since all the factors were rite he got the 18g. there is not a big difference between an 18g and the big16g i think power wise its 50cfm's.
