head job?should i??

well i have a 92 fwd and i was just wonderin is it worth getting a 3 angle valve job.. im a student and me myself can do the job myself.. now is it worth it taking the head off to do it?what gains can i expect??

a little but if you are going to pull the head off you as might as well port and polish it while you are at it. aslo you should have the valves back cut i have seen dyno results on this and it shows a decent amount with the above work done on the head.

i don't know what your experience w/ head work and such but i figured i'd just say this anyway because i've seen some butchered heads before. more flow doesn't not necessarily mean more power. if porting is excessive then at low engine speeds the ports are too large and the air loses velocity and overall there just isn't enough air flowing so you lose a lot of low end power. I tried explaining it the best i could but i'm hoping you already know all this.

yes i do thank u for ur concern i been porting and been doin head jobs for 4 years now and i have done more dsm heads then anything else.. and bout the porting to much your right its almost like an exhaust system you cant go to big cuz you will have some lag there on at bottom end
