i'm rebuilding a motor its a 92 tsi 6-bolt, and i was wondering what lifters are best, oem lifters or 2g lifters, or solid lifters from turbotrix

you'll explain why in a moment? when is a moment? you posted over 2 hours ago and havent explained.

My appologies for that statement, I should not have said a moment.
The reason I say not solid lifters, is primarily because from looking at your setup they will be of no gain over OEM hydraulic lifters unless you're reving rediculously high, 9000+. The problem with solid lifters is that you're going to be adjusting them constantly to take up valve lash, as apposed to hydraulic lifters which keep a constant force directed to the rocker arm. The other main reason is because you're using OEM valve springs if I'm not mistaken. The intent of the hydraulic lifter is to allow the rocker arm to maintain constant contact with the cam lobe eliminating any lash. As spring pressure is increased, pressure in the reservoir is increased to the point that oil is no longer allowed to keep the lifter plunger in contact with the rocker arm. If on the other hand you were using double springs and a fully worked head that would be in the upper 8xxx's then you may want to. But It would be in your best interest to go with OEM lifters. Plus they're much cheaper. I just purchased 16 for 7 and change a piece. I think BJ, Jeff Hill, and the majority of distributors that sell solid lifters have them for about 265 or so?
I have never used solid lifters in a motor, but I'm telling you what I know from people who have.
