OK, this may be a little different. (6-bolt question)

I can't find anyone with the same question as me. I am going to be doing a 6-bolt conversion soon and so I have done nothing to the engine. After I drop the engine in, I am going to mod it heavily but I have a question about the turbo. I am either getting a 16g or a t28. My question is why do the different turbos bolt directly to either a 1g or 2g. Is it because of the actual motor or manifold? I am going with a 2g manifold and head if that helps. Thanks.

it is because of the ehaust manifold and i would suggest a 1g head it has bigger ports than the 2g head.

I am putting a 2g head on because I am getting it ported and if that is done, a 2g head i better. Right?

i don't know for sure (lack of necessity), but i think porting the 2g (depending on how heavily it's ported) will make it almost as good as the 1g head.
i've found that (as a general rule) something that's left in manufactured condition, when the manufactured spec is premium quality, will last longer and be better (more reliable mainly) than something modded to equal it (why porshe engines are better than ours in long and short term OMG sorry dudes, you know it's true).

it will flow about the same, but the 1g head unported is, just as stated above, a factory spec piece that is able to out flow a modded piece. keep one thing in mind though this just a opinion not the only way.

Id say its a tossup for first between a properly ported 1g and properly ported 2g head. If the port work is done right then both heads can make a ton of power. Im running a ported 2g head on a 6 bolt.
