o2 Housings

Quick question on o2 housings. I had a plate laser cut to the shape of the turbo outlet and waste gate as one big hole and had a mandrel 3' pipe initially and then 2.5' for the down pipe section run off that. Just wondering why everyone doesn't do this instead of porting the o2 housing or is there something I've missed? Feel free to direct me to an FAQ I've missed.

What model car is that on your signature? Is it a 2door FWD? Kind of like a US Mirage?

Its a 84 Mitsubish Cordia. Fitted with a 230 hp Japanese spec VR4 engine. Yep its 2 door fwd. Lack of traction is the bane of my exhistance.

That sounds like a O2 eliminator downpipe. It's a good idea, because the stock O2 housing is restrictive.
