I have a few questions, I have been look at the Balance belt and need to know if I really need to remove the timing belt gear on the crank to get to the B-belt. Me and my friend left the top gear on and line up the marks on the top crank gear and the balance gear and then just put the belt on. I was wondering if there is a seprate mark for the gear on the crankshaft that will require me to line up that mark, or is the mark on the top crank gear good enough to help line up the belt. Is that is a bad Idea to do, or should I just remove top gear on the crankshaft to get to the lower gear on the crankshaft. What is the best way to go about doing that. And will I know if the balance belt is out of wack.. Thanks guys.

If you look on www.vfaq.com there is a comprehensive TSB on timing belt removal/ replacement. It is step by step and may answer your questions.

That is what I did. I just have some questions for people that have done it that the instructions on VFAQ doesn't provide. I can't find any way they sugest how to remove the first crank gear The DSM manual is much better than the VFAQ in explaining that. I did advice from people who have done there timing belt before. Thanks
