lookin to buy an smic from a supra owner. whats a fair price for one for a broke college student like myself? :) and also has anyone done this yet? is it a pretty direct fit or is there alot of modification to make it fit? thanks

there's a writeup on the VFAQ...Plenty of people ave done it. Personally I think it's too much of a hack job. Buy a real IC. But anyway, should be able to pick one up for around $150 or so..I got mine for $110 shipped with all the MKIV piping, then turned around and sold it for $200 when I smartened up....

LOL im broke but the price is what visa gets to pay until i can afford to pay it off. the guy offered me the ic and the stock pump for 125 so i guess thats a fair deal. im going for a total sleeper on this project so i wanna keep it as a smic as long as i can. any more advice on the install etc?

i jsut got one budget tuners rocks....t-28 MKIV SMIC and ic teq. sprayed are what i am going to use

my broke college stundent ass got it for $117...then $20 for install parts. WOW. you can feel the difference.

If you only knew the difference this IC makes. We installed this IC on a friends 90 GSX with a B16G and the difference was night and day. Better low end, top end, doesnt get heatsoaked nearly as easy as the stock sidemount, flows 496cfm compared to the stock 190cfm....by far the best mod for the money.

And the hack job is anything but complicated. Simply cut a slightly larger hole where the UICP meets the IC and pound in the sub frame slightly so the IC doesnt make your bumber bulge out. Some people need to understand that not all benifits come in a bolt on style. Do a lil work, getcha hands a lil dirty, get some more hp ;)

No offense, but WAY to much. Whoever bought that was a moron. You should never pay more than $125-$150 SHIPPED for one of these IC's. I paid $75 SHIPPED for mine (35K miles old, mint condition, cleaned, endtank flipped).

Back to topic: Look on the classifieds here, www.dsmtrader.com , www.thepartstrader.com , even the classifieds on www.i-supra.com . Like stated before, theres vfaqs on it. Theres also a thread I started about my friends Supra IC install:

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=35014

Install is not nearly as hard as portrayed by many. If your not lazy and have all the pipes you need, shouldnt take you more than an hour to do. DO NOT pay more than $150 shipped or your getting raped :thumb:
