Ok guys......had the Big T28 on now 2 weeks and all is well....doesn't use any oil or anything. I love it actually. But I have a few questions hopefully you'll take the time to answer or straighten out for me.

1. I have heard that you don't truely appreciate the Big T28 till you throw some more fuel at it and turn up the Boost. Question: Will I really be blown away by the increase in power? ( I have been driving it now for 2 weeks on 15 psi and stock injectors and I am pretty impressed already)

2. I have already started to feel a little clutch slippage (stock clutch) and I am at a toss up between the CBHD and the ACT 2600. Question: Which one will last longer? Who has it in stock..and how much? ( I only go to the track 3 times a year, other than that I street race and autobahn/Autocross)

3. Where can I get a Driver side headlight (mine is doing that yellow discoloration Sh*& and I want it to compliment the paint job my GSX is getting in 2 months? Does Mitsu. still stock and sell these?

4. I am looking to get some stiffer coil over springs and possibly drop the ride height a little, Any suggestions (based on price/performance) also do strut tower brace's help GSX's firmness as much as with a GS-T? Suggestions please (based on price/performance/ease of installation front and rear)

I am also gonna get some new Summer tires but I have some nice Falken's picked out and their affordable over here.

I really appreciate your input. Thanks,

1.) Yes, the difference in appreciable as you will get better timing advance.

2.) ACT 2600

3.) Just polish it with some Metal Polish. If you'd do a search of the DSM archives, I have a fairly long diatribe on detailing and restoring yellowed headlights is one of them. Use some Eagle One metal polish and then a coat of cleaner wax. Good as new.

4.) Ground Controls with some Tokico adjustables. Yes, strut tower braces front and rear will greatly stiffen the chassis just as much as a GST (same platform).

As for #1, yah, bigger injectors and then run more boost. Then add some timing and presto whammo, a whole new car in 3rd gear. 2nd gear should be pretty good now anyhow.

Yes I have noticed a substantial amount of more pull in 1st and 2nd gear and 3rd leaves a little desire in me to make it pull harder. I raced a modded Subabru WRX the other night and soon as I got to 3rd...there he went. Had a full car on me by the end of the 1/4. I really look forward to more fuel and more boost. But I am ohhh so close to where I want my car (straight line acceleration wise). We get 98 octane at the pump here.....would that be safe for 20psi and 550cc injectors on my 2g GSX's crappy fuel map? Run across a good deal yesterday on 550's. Thanks for the replies.

It should be.... i run 20lbs and 93 octane sometimes when its cooler outside. I havn't checked yoiur mods, but you should have an EGT gauge just to make for sure and some type of fuel control and either a TMO chip. If you get the DSM link, you wont need the tmo chip as it takes care of the fuel cut part. If you are using an AFC, then you will need the TMO chip to get rid of that fuel cut.

Before I had any fuel control, I would fuel cut even at around 16 lbs of boost. That was with stock injectors, but with a Big Greddy FMIC. Rest was BPU's and 3" testpipe.

It must be nice to be able to get 98 octane at the pump LOL. How far are you from the autobahn?

Yeah 98 octane is damn cool outta the pump. But you do pay for it here. Imagine 1.09 a liter x 3 for a gallon and thats what german's pay for 89 octane. yes!! 3.27 a gallon!!!!! On base though we pay the U.S. Average which seems to be about 1.45. I pay about 1.65 for 98 octane ONLY while on base. If you buy fuel off base you pay german price....unless of course you buy a 200 liter coupon for like $$$ i dunno.

I am not very far from "THE AUTOBAHN" there are hundres of "AUTOBAHN's" here. They really do have speed limits...not like I once thought either. Just in certain places on "the autobahn" are unrestricted. Its not uncommon for me to just set the cruise on 125ish (about 180-190kph) and just fly. My GSX gets about 14.5 miles to the gallon at 125 or so. I swear you can watch the damn needle go down.

I have seen 165mph on a very long autobahn near here in my GSX....yes it goes 165. I still wanna bury it past the 170 thats on my speedo ( i know I am insane)

Back to my topic.......will I notice say.......another 60 seat of the pants horsepower with more fuel and more boost. I am excited to say the least. Someone check out my mods....and add 550's and a afc and a 190lph pump and boost on 18-20 psi and let me know if you think I will feel 60 or more seat of the pants hp. Thanks

Okay, after looking at your mods, the first thing you should get before adding more fuel is an UICP .. I will say the Extreme one is very nice, as that is what I have, but its pricey. I think I paid like 395 for the UICP complete with 1st Gen BOV already on it, but that was like 9 months ago, so I forget :<. Anyhoo, also get a 2.5 Downpipe and Testpipe to match your exhaust. Those are major restrictions on your car. How tough are they on emissions over there? Do they do the sniffer test? If so, then you prolly shouldn't go the testpipe route, unless you don't mind taking it off and then back on. It's a PITA to get off the CAT the first time, especially if you don't have the benefit of a lift. I would do all of this before thinking about adding injectors and a AFC. You will notice a considerable amount of power from just the UICP imo. Before I added my UICP, I barely got 15PSI out of the MBC. After installing it, I was like hitting 24PSI with the same settings..obviously not good for the T-25 at the time :> ...i blew off the UICP LOL.

But back on track, this is just what I would do. If you check any of the upgrade paths like Extreme's or RRE's, they give the modlist progression, and thats one of'em before you get bigger injectors and some sort of fuel control. If i was you, you probably have the 95 EPROM ECU..its not that hard to check yours to tell, but spend the $595 on the DSM link vs $325 for a new AFC and you won't be sorry. I know all of this stuff cost $$$, and obviously if your like me, you don't have a cash tree in your backyard :< so spend it wisely. Your picture looked as if you already had the 1st Gen BOV, but I couldn't tell for sure. By just adding the DP/Testpipe/UICP, I would think you would notice about an additional 40 WHP. I'm not saying you couldn't go the route you suggested, but If it was me, I would do these other things first.

As to your actual question, Its hard to say since you havn't done all the BPU's. A general rule of thumb from what I have heard is 9-10HP per lb of boost. So if you are currently running 15 and you then run 20 = 45-50HP. That's in theory. However, due to your restrictive DP/CAT, i'm not so sure that would be an accurate assessment. Anyone else see any flaw's in this reasoning?

Uhhhh yeah......i already have a DP, and A test pipe, and a UICP. I guess I need to update that. I DID notice a good mid-range-- top end change. But I want another 40-60 kick in the pants.

Well, in that case, the problem that you are going to have with all this newly added fuel is not enough air flow. You are going to have a hard time tuning in order to get things running properly. I didn't add the injectors until I had both front mount and fuel control. The FMIC gives around 25-30HP gain or so and you will additional HP my cranking up the boost. Every car reacts differently to mods. I can't give advice since I didnt do it in that order..sorry :< I don't want to mislead you into thinking thats the answer because I honestly think you will have some tuning problems with just injectors and some sort of fuel control.

This isn't accurate. Fuel cut is based on IPW which is based on airflow. The way to add fuel is to put larger injectors in and reduce airflow with an AFC (or similar device). "Adding fuel" reduces the chance of fuel cut. Of course there are retarded people that put an AFC on a car with stock injectors and start adding airflow. That really is stupid.

Yah, i should also rephrase what I said...in order to achieve better tunability, you are going to want more airflow, but you won't have enough of it to compensate for the bigger injectors. Once you have both, then you can tune alot easier with your fuel control device. The 2g MAF has its limits though. The AFC will actually "lie" to your car's ECU and tell it that there is less airflow than there really is <bad im my opinion> so as to make the MAF happy and hence no fuel cut. Even then, you might still require a chip from TMO... anyone give some insight on this route? ( I never tried using an AFC so i'm not sure fuel cut can be avoided with AFC alone - i have heard removing honeycomb's on a 2g are a bad idea). I know that's what the 1G guys do.

I doubt anyone here will be hitting the limits of the 2G MAS. You'd be maxing out a 20G before you would hit MAS overrun on a 2G.

Okay, maybe limits wasn't the best phrase ... I just meant that the car will hit fuel cut eventually and you must have a way to either lie to your computer (afc) or tell the ecu what it wants to see (DSM Link) so that the airflow that the 2g MAF see's is okay by the ECU.

Yes, it has. It overruns at around 2700-2800hz. That's about 50lbs/hr. I forget how to convert that to power. Someone else will know.

I'm just wondering what BPU stands for. I'm new to learning these acroynm's. I want a dsmlink so damn bad I would give my left testicle for it. One of the hospital's here is giving $70,000 for a testicle donation. I would probably do it but I like having them to much:D. If I did it though I would mod the hell out of my car.
