did you keep the ring that aligns the stock manifold with the turbo when installing your 2g manifold?? and also, the vfaq said that there was some grinding that had to be done in order for the new manifold to fit behind the P/S bracket.. mine bolted right on.. and one more question.. do any of you get big discounts at your local mitsu dealer?? i went in to buy a manifold, and was told that being a part of a dsm club gets me any part i want at cost plus 10%.. just wanting to know if anyone else is getting this kind of treatment or am i just getting lucky? thanks for your help in advance..:dsm:

Yep go to O'brian Mitsubishi and talk to Josh. That's where I get all my parts. THey got Race Gas too.
 
thats where i went.. o'brien down on fowler. 2g manifold for $137 from the $208 list price.. ok so im going to take out the manifold and take that ring out then.. thanks guys.. :dsm:
 
ok.....any of you hang out at Winn Dixie Saturday nights? I'm just trying to figure out who's who. A lot of the DSM'ers hang out there.
 
i haven't been to winn dixie, but i talked to josh today.. and he told me about it.. i havent lived here all that long.. and my dsm was on a 4 month hiatus while i was saving money for repairs.. its finally up and running, still not as well as i want it to.. but i might make an appearance there this coming weekend or the next. by the way... i called and asked for some new lifters.. as mine are stock and tick like a mofo.. and the DSM club discounted price is $25 each!!.. anyone know where i can get revised ones cheaper?? thanks again.. Ultra, i may see you this weekend at Winn Dixie if you're gonna be there.:dsm:

I'm there every weekend my friend. I'll be there with my integra (the talon isn't running yet....almost though). We're usually on the side farthest from Boy Scout, closest to Gulf Stream Isles. You'll see us there.
 
I heavily ported my 1g exhaust manifold, turbo, o2 housing i know theres isnt much HP again, but around how much can i expect with all the porting done?

heres a comparison of ported and not on stock 1G exh mani:

Actually, you don't want to port the runners upstream of the turbo much, if any.

You want to keep those pipes small and *smooth* (no sudden transitions) to keep the exhaust velocity up and the gas hot. Unless you've ported your head to match, you've got a terrible step in the exhaust path there between head and manifold. That's Bad.

You *particularly* don't want to be porting the 1G manifold, since it's already much too weak, and making it thinner just increases the risk of it cracking right off.
