I picked up my new car last weekend and spent this hole weekend tuning her up. Full tune up,fuel filter the hole deal. Its got a 16G on it with the stock pump rail and injectors. The boost is at stock settings but I dont have a guage to check what its running at. It pegs the stock gauge at 14psi even thow I no its not really a true bost gauge. Heres where the problem comes in at around 5500rpm it totaly shuts down and makes a bounce noise like its hitting a rev limiter. If you easy on the gas you can hit red line but it takes some skill. Iv been thinking its detecting its runing to lean and shuting it down to prevent it from causing damage, and a new fuel pump would fix this. Could i be right or is there somthing else I should look at>? help pleaseee

turn down the boost. I know you don't know how much to adjust it, just turn the knob or whatever until the car runs cleanly. Please make sure you adjust the boost lower, and make sure you know which way to turn the boost controller so that the boost goes down, not up. If the engine isn't hitting fuel cut then it's just running so lean that it can't run right. That's gonna be hell on your engine, and it could blow in no time.

LMFAO:laugh:
Just rad up a bit on this site and you will see whats up. I used to hit fuel cut when my car was stock with just a k/n... ANyhow that is most likely what is going on. First mods are usually boost controller, k/b and free mods and such, but since the guy put in the 16g (14b prolly died on him) you hsould not only look into that but should get a fuel pump soon to. Its not bad for you at all to run stock boost levels with the 16g, your motor wont "blow" at any time:rolleyes: Just keep in mind that when you go turn up the boost that you do have a turbo that flows a bit much more than the 14b and fuel mods will be necessary after about 15psi...

you upgraded your turbo, and you dont have a boost gauge? sorry for sounding rude but i think this should be in the noobies section. the stock boost gauge is there so people who think they know alot about cars can tell their passengers about it. you are prolly running about 20-25 lbs of boost and youre hitting fuel cut. get yourself a boost gauge.

hey hey i just bought the car i didnt do this stuff, he bought the 16g because it was cheeper so he didnt realize the difference. 25psi seems a little crazy its stil on the stock settings.
