Who has put a 1g Intake Mani on a 2g

I've read the Vfaq's. But you know how that goes. Looks good on paper till you actually do it. I'm gonna attempt it. Just wondering if there are any tips from who have done it.

you know you should either port match your 2g head to the 1g manifold or put a 1g head on at the same time right?

I did the swap its a no brainer. and listen to what Larryd said ...

no use doing the swap if you dont port your head.

I will be port matching the 1g to the 2g head. I picked up a gasket yesterday and compared it to the 2g gasket. Wow it is alot bigger. I have to do alot of porting. I just want to know how far in to the head ports I can go and not effect the head.

Do you have any pics of the porting you did?
Did you notice any kind of gains at the stage you were when you did the mod?

Sorry no pics...Too much money spent on car repairs so I can't afford a digital camera

as far as porting goes all you have to do is start by widen the runner to the gasket.

then graduate the port until it is smooth into the head.

you dont have to hog out the entire runner. that is acually a bad thing with 2G heads.

IMHO I would suggest taking the head to a machine shop that can be trusted. I wouldnt attempt porting your head yourself as changing the flow characteristics of a head can be a good or VERY bad thing.
