greddy turbo kit or not

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

The kit is good, very high quality. The problem is, its way overpriced. It would be much cheaper just to get an 18G,or 20G by itself, from one of the many venders on this site. I think the cheapest I have sen for the greddy kit is like $2100. You will be able to geta turbo just as good for close to half that price from another vender.

The 18g Greddy aint that fast in my opinion. I know 2 people personally who have em and they both arent impressed much. It spools nice and hard but the best time I seen at the strip with these 2 were low 14s in the 1/4mile. Remember I live in high altitude in Colorado. 14s here arent respectable here.
I did a 14.24@ 98mph with stock turbo@22psi of boost so you figure it out.
When the nationals came back in Oct., David B. could only get 9-10 sec. passes here. Shows you how altitude changes stuff.
I see no problems with the 18g, but I would try to get something better if I could afford it. The HRC super 20g blows the 18g out of the watter BIG time!!!!!!

and any td05/td06 20g blows that hrc20g out of the water as well!!
Anyhow Joey just make sure that you do a little searching and you will find out how much cheaper it is to not buy the kit and make one yourself

My friend has a 97 GSX and he has purchased GReddy EVERYthing, including the blower. On Intake, Exaust, Walbro 255 non-wired, emanage, and FMIC@ 20psi he went 12.6 at 107.99 with no tuning. I ported his turbine housing before it went in and the response is really nice, with a healthy top end.
Money is my only reservation, he paid 2400 when it was said and done....

But this blower will surley get you into the high 11's with a tuned car and good driver.

A "Blower" is a common reference to a unit that produces compressed air.

Maybe I dont feel like saying "The turbocharger" all the time.

And who is we? Are you the leader of the "Club for text book automotive references?" Thanks for your input, but try being a little nicer when making a "Correction":thumb:

Nick

p.s. Like I said, you want the GReddy blower? get it! ;)

Blower huh...? How about someone start a poll on the whole "blower" being a common reference.

ya,LMOA... blower huh?
Anyhow he is actually the moderater of this site and I feel his correction to you was very approptiate, not mean in anyway. So why dont you try and be a little nicer (as well as know who the ####ing moderaters are) before you snap back at someone trying to help...

Seriously, no one on this WHOLE site has ever heard that reference? I dont believe that.
I'm from Maine.I tried to input my experience like evryone else. Words ususally come out with an "AH" sound at the end of it("Want some BeeAH, or PizzAH?" OR"Ooohhh, nich BlowAH!") so its mostly habit.
I feel that you guys being on the moderators side completely, shows your true colors.....

THe BLEEP*BlooP*BLEEP*BLeepING moderators? Thats a nice touch, the cursing I mean.
THey keep it peaceful on this website.THats their job. Does that mean they're Registered ASE professional DSM GuRu's? Probably NOT:thumb:

SO how about this? Relax, forget about it. Your not gunna change my way of speech or reference. So hows about letting this DSMer do his thing, w/o the Mighty, and Omnipotent *opinion of some guys who happen to be Moderators of a website.....

Thanks!

:dsm:

THat RoadRace Engineering article is what I was referring to originally. The "11 sec 2g story" its called or something? Good stuff GSJOEYGST, read up on it!

Well I dont think that anyone was trying to change you dude...
I just thought you snapped back at Larry pretty rudely when he was being quite polite in his terminology...

See no harm intended, but no I have never heard anyone refer to a turbo as a blower especally on this site.
