What do you guys and girls think of this intercooler for a big28? I was going to upgrade my side mount but this is cheaper and well it’s a front mount. Is it to small or will it work. I was looking at the dejon tool side mount by the way. Any suggestions?

check it

it seems like itd work, but buying online theres always a risk. but for 50 bucks id say go for it:thumb:

just have to make your own piping, shouldn't be too tuff tho. I was gunna buy an fmic off ebay and make my own piping, but imma have some cash all a sudden so imma just buy a kit. good luck and that'll work for a BIGt28

Putting larger in/outs on your stock sidemount will probably be better investment. That thing is tiny. the smallest front mount ive ever seen, and you have no idea what kind of core it is. maybe if it was a spearco, but i seriously doubt it.

That thing is 50% bigger than the stock sidemount. a Supra sidemount is 300% bigger than the stock sidemount. oh, and mounting that thing and piping would be more expensive than a supra sidemount. plus, you have a 2G. supra sidemounts fit pretty damn good on 2Gs.

my opinion: that IC is junk. tweaking your stocker will yeild more gain.

If it is the same guy (I think it is), it is made from a cut down Ford Powerstroke IC. Those are generally reguarded as crap. RRE has Griffin IC's for like $400 and change, and you can get a Spearco for $500 and change. That would be the better way to go IMO.

seems to me that its so narrow and long the pressure drop would be huge

I agree, don't waste your money. Dejon Tool has a modified side mount that has a bigger inlet and outlet. I think it's good enough for up to a big 16g, but I could be wrong.

Go with a kit that's designed for your car. The Supra side mount would be a better choice in my opinion. Performance parts of that nature that are "home made" should be left alone. You have many other, better options out there.

The Dejon side mount is just a stock IC with bigger inlet/outlet. If you want to stay side mount, the Supra IC is a better choice. IMO - the Dejon side mount is not worth the money. You need a better flowing/more efficient core, not just in/out.
