Holy sh1t, i pull of my cover, just to take a look, i was like "those are fukin huge" no wonder the agjustable ones are 150 a piece. what do people recomend. i was thinking of the aem ones, or meaby the hks ones... but the pink/blue thing is kinda dumb looking and from who know where? also what is the general opinion on the cover? i supose when its adjusted right it should be on, but the ricers seem to like it off.

Ricers? some poeple have it off cause the adjustable cam gears wont fit underneath of the thing. up to you, leave it or take it off. I think on the vfaq under 101 ways to kill an engine it showed the middle timming cover melted or something and reccommended to keep the top part of it on. But like i said, your choice:thumb:

First of all, ask yourself WHY you want adjustable cam gears? You actually gonna adjust your cams? Probably not, so go spend your money on something that will actually make your car perform better. Unless you like wasting $300 on something that you will never take advantage of.

i plan on getting hks cams. i was under the impression that once you got upgraded cams they would need to be properly tunned to take advantage of there power, with the current engine modifications. I wouldn't adjust my cams, i would have a shop do it when they tune the car. thats why i would get them. its not a waste.

Food for thought: buy HKS cams and then you wont need the adjustable gears AND you wont get worn lobes.

Exactly.

it won't fit??

if your cam gears are any bigger than your stock ones i'd immediately return them before you get to hear the rough piston/valve lovemakin.

i had hks 272/272 cams and i have a worn lobe on the intake side. but i'm pretty sure it was from a collapsed lifter.

i thougt we had roller lifters? so wouldent it be hard to wear ? im not as knolegable as i shoudl be on the 4g63 valve train

Cam gears run $300 EACH, not the set. They're for more experienced tuners, they're used to advance the timing on your vehicle.

I talked to Tym at Buschur and he told me not to even consider them with the HKS cams, you don't need them.
