ok the talon is getting some kind of fuel cut or something??? heres the story... every thing use to work just fine, then my fuel pump took a crap, so i replaced it with a warlbro ( did i spell that right?) 255 fuel pump, and ever since then it doesnt matter if its at 9 psi or 18 psi i spool up @ about 3,000 rpm's reach full boost ( even at 18 psi) and then hit about 5,400 rpm and it loses power like the fuel is cutting out... WTF?? and it is only doing it since i put in a better fuel pump??? i checked the ENTIRE fuel system and fuel pressure is fine, the injectors are fine, and even re-wired the fuel pump for the higher voltage and i just can't figure this sh*t out?? some help would be much appreciated...
oh and one other thing it acts like its fuel cutting even when you rev it sitting still with no load on the motor... it does the same thing in nuetral basically...

did you, for *ANY* reason un-plug your MAS?

sounds like what mine Did the Time I forgot to re-attatch The MAS..

did you do any other mods @ the same time?

I've never replaced the FP, but it's likely not the pump...

did you crank the boost up? MAF over-run?

Id might not be fuel cut. It could be hesitation becasue you are now dumping to much fuel.

Sounds likely.

I would pull the plugs and verify the gap on them. Make sure they are still good.

If you are truly getting fuel cut, then pulling the lower honeycomb (2G) should take care of it. I would avoid doing that unless you know what you are doing. And if you knew what you were doing you probably would have tried that already. :)

What gauges do you have to work with? do you have a datalogger?

From his post he has a 1G. I upgraded to the same fuel pump and had no issues like he is talking about on a stock FPR. To me it sounds MAS related / boost leak. When it "feels" like you hit fuel cut.. does it feel like you hit a brick wall or does it feel like a backfire?

i have no datalogger... just f/p gauge and boost gauge..... i almost think that it is MAS related, but if it is and the MAS is plugged in, what else can i do to check if its MAS related, i dont think its boost leaking cuz like i said i can set it at 9 psi or 18 psi and it will reach full boost befor the "fuel cut" problem occurs, how likely is it that its getting to much fuel cuz of the new pump? can i check that? and also doesnt hks make like a vein pressure thing that gets rid of the MAS? could that work? how much does it cost? thanx for all the help guys!

It happens to me too, I'm dumping WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much fuel due to me not tuning since i dont have injectors, i also am in the process of fouling out my plugs b/c sometimes the car doesnt wanna run right.. :\

that didnt help much but thanx any way........ maybe if you told me more in depth it would help.......

soooo you have 510cc Injectors...
a big 16g
super AFC, and 255 pump, huh?
extreme didn't Ask if you have a AFPR? or the like?

you're going to have to borrow a datalogger, And Tune these puppies.

but you're going to have to look into an AFRP

the guys on NEDSM Were all drooling Over the spoolinup AFPR recently....you may look into that.....

way out in left field here, but have a go at it...

when I bought my car used, it had this simptom. Of course it was just a factory boost because I had no boost guage or mbc.

Turns out I had such a bad oil leak in the valve cover that oil was filling up the spark plug wells and shorting them out at 3500 or so rpm, and only under boost. It was wierd and very scary the day after I bought the car. Needless to say, changing the valve cover gasket and cleaning out the wells cured it.

just a shot in the dark, but worth a look...

He is definitely running more rich than he was stock, which is rich to begin with.

This isn't likely on a 1G. A larger fuel pump will not give you more fuel unless it overruns the FPR. This doesn't happen that much on 1Gs. It's mostly a 2G thing. If the FPR is functioning properly (which it should be) then additional volume goes back to the tank the same as it always did.

It's not impossible either. But in my case my car did not exhibit symptoms like this after a 255 install with stock FPR. I have no proof that mine is not overrunning but since my car does not hesitate at 5400rpms I would say the problem is elswhere.
