More than likely this thread will be moved, but here's my next question. My ported and clipped B16G came in yesterday, though I'm still waiting for my clutch, down pipe, and exhaust to come in. Now, should I still intsall my new turbo now, but set the psi at around 10 until the other three parts come in, or should I just wait:confused:

Sure you could install it now.Just you will have to drive like a granny till the other parts are installed.

IMHO NO!

your doign what everyone tells you not to do, installing a mass of parts at once which is just asking for problems. You just installed your AFC and havent figured that out yet, adding a larger turbo to the situation will make it even more complex

Larry is correct in this. But I know, and Im sure Larry knows as well, how hard it is to keep from installing things that are in your hands. Im guilty of it. Way back when, I installed a 20G with out any suporting mods, and just ran very low boost. It was not fun, and I didnt run any quicker at the track. There is going to be that little voice inside your head that says "Go ahead, turn it up some. Youll be OK" It is very hard to ignore that. I would say wait until you have all supporting mods. It will make your life much easier down the road.

Thanks larryd, I respect your opinion. I did finally get my afc probs out of the way, I tuned it, and it ran very well. I'm actually not driving my Eclipse right now anyway, and won't until I get the rest of my mods in, dynoed and tuned as well. I actually installed my ported and clipped B16G today. but like I said, my car is sitting at my brothers' garage until I get the clutch, downpipe, and exhaust done. in the meanwhile I'm driving my winter beater LOL. So that shouldn't be a bad thing right:confused: hope not. :(

yeah I completely understand.....I definitely would not have installed my B16G if I was still experiencing AFC probs. I'm also letting her sit because uh....I'm a little too boost happy, and don't have the clamping force, or the relieved backpressure to handle it......plus I haven't been driving my beater lately anyway. :p
