14b turbo rebuild

I have a 14b turbo but it's locked up. Something about no oil getting into the turbo. Well my question is would it be better if I rebuild it or buy a working one at ebay or dsmtrader? Tell me what you think.

why not just give in and buy a new turbo? like a 16g?

It locked up for running without oil. I would gladly buy a 16G but seeing as the cheapest I've seen is $400 and I can get a 14b for like $150. I'm planning on buying the 16G, but that's when I have more money to make supporting mods. Or should I just wait and save up to buy the 16G? It would probably take me about a 2 months to save up for the 16G.

well you can still run the 16g at stock boost level untill you can afford the supporting fuel system mods to turn it up.

Well I guess I could go that road but I haven't found a good price for a 16G. Do you know any site where I can find it? I tried ebay there's only one auction going on right now for $400. Or should I buy it new, because I found a site that has them for $574 w/o the turbine housing, but I can use the turbine housing from the 14b right?

i don't think you can use the turbine housing from 14b. why not get a credit card? you need to start building credit sometime if you ever wanna get a loan for anything or buy a house.

I already tried to get one but i just turned 18 last month and they told I wasn't eligible to get one at the time or some crap like that. Well I guess I'll just have to save some money to buy the 16G turbo, and by the way I read at this site: http://www.dsm-performance.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=38&products_id=105 that all you have to do is swap the turbine housing from the 14b to the 16G. Also, out of curiosity, how much will a shop charge for rebuilding a 14b turbo??

Forced performance can rebuild your turbo into a 16g for under 500. Or rebuild it as a 14b for around 300.

You could have it ported and clipped for a little extra.
