killing my cat

Hey everyone, I just found out my town doesnt check for emissions, and i just got passed my inspection with 2% windows and no muffler.... (I love WV) and now I wanna gut my cat.

Taking off my muffler was the biggest ***** ever, the bolts were corroded and worn and after i got everything off (this is where it got hard) the muffler just wouldnt come off..... Nothing was holding it in the tailpipe, but it would NOT come off. I actually planted my feet on the wheel wells, arched my back so i was off the ground, and pulled with all my might and weight. Finally i took it to a mechanic and he welded it off.

What all do i need to take my cat off and gut it? Can someone give me the steps? I don't wanna run into the same problems......

also, it should make it louder, correct?

Forget about gutting it. Just spend the cash and get a test-pipe. Cat's have material in there you don't really want to inhale as your gutting it. and it won't make the power vs. the effort.

Get a test pipe for $20.00 or make it yourself if you know how to weld!!!!

hm... Where can i get a test pipe? I dont know how to weld nor do i have access to any equipment.

Any of the vendors sell a test-pipe plus any local shop can weld you one pretty cheap.

test pipes will increase your whp and will also make it louder... good luck and let us know how it turns out

It depends if your bolts are rusted. I did mine with my friends help in 20 minutes!!!!

I use a test pipe on my car and compared to a high flow cat.. They are worlds apart..

If your muffler wouldn't come off there is no way your cat is coming off unless you cut it off. Just take it to a muffler shop and have them weld a pipe in place
