I am looking to get exhaust. I dont have much money right now and i was looking at 2.5 catback. People have been telling me to wait and get 3 inch turbo back. What are the ups and downs to the 2.5 catback-or-turbo back and 3 inch catback-or-tubo back with my mods? and what kind can i get to sound like a weed-whacker.....i know i know it's too ricey but i like it

Thanks for the help

You can't sound like a weed-whacker; you have a turbo.

3 inch exhaust is somewhat overdoing it for your current state of tune; unless you're heading for crazy power, stick with the 2.5 and spend your spare change on neon.

I want to do exhaust, suspension, a bigger turbo eventually...probably not until after this one starts going bad or i come up with money. Then i really dont know. I have plans but everything is gonna take a while because I have too many bills to pay. Any comments will help..thanx

If it's anything you want it's anything you get...

Since you are after a somewhat "weed whacker" sort of sound < and I'm not knocking that > I would suggest going with a custom built exhaust system. Go down to your local motorsport store and pick your favorite fart can (muffler). Then, take it to a local exhaust shop and have them fab a 2.5" or 3" exhaust with the muffler on the end.

Based on the quality of some of those muffler you may achieve the sound you are after with the pipe diameter you want/need for turbo applications .. at a reasonable price.

I know! I know! Mount the weedwacker motor in the trunk and have it drive a generator to power the neon! Two birds. One stone.

A drawback to consider of getting a 3" exhaust is you will more than likely have a bit of boost creep, especially if you do a turbo-back... I'd still go with the 3" though so you don't limit yourself in the future... just something to think about.

Thanx guys. I know that i deserve all the rice jokes, but u guys helped thanks

Any chambered muffler will give you the rice boy idiot sound you desire:rolleyes: get a 2/3 chamber flow master muffler and have them weld one of those back cut 3" stainless tips on it. like you seen sticking out the back of those old ford p/u trucks
