What can I do to ensure a long life with my freshly rebuilt motor. Any suggestions on break in. When can I start putting all of the mods I want and not have to worry about, that my motor might not be "broke in".

Ask that question to 10 different people and you will more than likely get 1o different answers. Change the oil at 500 and 1000 miles then switch over to synthetic oil and you should be fine to do whatever you want.

My personal preference for breaking in a motor is as follows. I like to run it pretty easy for like the first 150-200 miles...just to ensure the bearings/rings/etc. seat properly, and if you used assembly lube, to make sure it's nice and slick with oil by that point. After that, I begin to introduce a few pounds of boost, but still keep it under like 4K rpm. This part is critical because of expansion, and other factors related to how metal expands and 'seals.' You don't want to keep the motor too cool, or too babied because you might not create a tight enough ring seal, resulting in lower compression and loss of power. At about 500 or so, change the oil, and begin to get into it a little more...maybe 10 pounds of boost and 5K rpm or so. As soon as a week or so later, change the oil to full synthetic and let 'er rip. As rdrkt said, there are MANY preferences, however this is the one I have used with good success.

I posted another thread about nitrous and a stock 14b. My question is, can I take my Fully optioned NX kit off my 95 cobra and use the smallest shot on a stock 93 tsi awd? What kind of electronics would I need to get and so forth? Some here refered this question to you.
