Well i just thought i would share my experience with you guys regarding the blue washer fluid (turbo power). A buddy of mine bought a new car from dealer and not more then 2 days later his washer fluid wouldnt work, so he went back to them and they said they have been having troubles with this stuff freezing, and at this time the coldest it was at night was -7 or so.
Over the last little bit they have been reducing the amount of meth in the mix.

SO i grabbed a cup of this (blue juice) and put it in my freezer, and couldn't believe my eyes when it froze!!!!! This stuff is rated at -35 how can it freeze at -5??

So i got my hands on a barrel of meth and started to mix my own but blew my turbo before i could try it. My buddy with his gt35r integra switched over from the blue juice to our 50-50 mix and his A/F went one full point richer!!!!! He was tuned for a solid 11.2 and they went down to 10 flat!!!

So for all you guys using the this stuff you might want to start mixing your own cause your not getting the meth mix you think you are.

Yea, i had issues with "blue juice" as well and now mix my own at 70% meth and 30 distilled water, my car loves it!!!

Smurf piss formulation is changed by the manufacturers as the seasons change. They cut down the amount of alcohol etc. when it's warmer. You may have a "stale" bottle, or one on the shelf longer than it was "supposed" to be.
But even at that, is it rated to -7°?

The other thing i forgot to mention was the one time i ran a gallon of that through m system, it left a ton of gunk in my filter that i had to clean off. I haven't had this issue since i stopped using it and started mixing my own.

does it say on what parts to mix? Ive had my washer fluid freeze, but that was also -35 easily standing still, and on the HWY it freezes almost instantly.

Well this (blue juice) is the winter formula then there is a summer (bug wash) formula.
I'm not trying to jump the gun to conclusions but from the multiple dealership complaints and my own test it eliminates the "stale" bottle.
The -7 comment was that the coldest temperature at night when this was freezing in the cars at these dealers.

I checked how cold it was in my freezer when this stuff DID freeze and my freezer is abit colder then most but was right around -12. So HOW does this stuff rated at -35 freeze???

turboglenn, what methanol source are you using to mix up your own solution? Are you still using the yellow HEET? If I'm not mistaken, HEET is packaged as 12 fluid oz. There are 128 oz in a gallon. So to end up with a 75/25 meth/h20 sol'n you would have to use 8 bottles of HEET every time you fill the reservoir. At almost $2 each at Walmart that starts to add up.

There has got to be a better way.

I got a buddy at a quick lube that hooks me with Straight BLUE(Methanol)!

I managed to get my hands on a 45 gallon drum of methanol from a local track at a good deal, so i will be set for a long time to come.

I also need to find a way to make my own, what i usually do is add 3 bottles of HEET in an empty gallon of blue juice, then add the rest -20* blue juice...i read its almost if not exactly 50/50...if im stuck with having to mix my own i might give this water/methanol thing a second thought.

How much did you pay for that? I just found a local place selling 55 gallon drums for $301.95 which comes out to $5.49/gallon.

I payed $250 for mine, it was cheap cause the guy who ordered it in backed out so they needed to move it. $300 is still a good deal. I pay almost $4 for a jug of blue juice so your $5.49 a gallon is still cheap.

I haerecently developed wate linefilter issus too using the blue wiper fuid. I have been debating uin a home mix, but the cost of filters hasn't outwieghed $2 a gallon for the wiperfluid. Unless the mix doesn't contain the amout of meth suggested by the temperature rating, which you're claiming. I've never put any in the freezer to test.

I have been using HEET, but yesterday drdouglass brought me 2 gallons of pure meth and i just found a local source for pure meth for 3.45 a gallon WOOOHOOO!!!!! So it's going to be that from now on.

Contact any circle track car shop in your area, all of them should have methanol in drums in the back. Both our local shops do! one gets 12 bucks a gallon (rip off at Sublime speed technology) and Kosisky auto parts (now called total performance) sells it at the 3.45 i quoted a minute ago.

You know, I've noticed that my washer tank has been taking longer and longer to empty out even though the WI is still set to activate at the same psi. I'm going to pull the nozzle and check out the inline filter. I wonder if flushing the system with some pure meth might dissolve any buildup?

Damn, $3.45!? I'm calling some local speedshops.........NOW!
BTW, in that other thread you posted about the Walmart gas line antifreeze for $3.67 per 4 pack (12 oz. bottles). Well that works out to $9.78/gallon. Not horrible. But I looked last night and the Walmart here did not have any. Maybe seasonal?

I know it's affected my injection flow. My pump takes longer to swell the fuel injection hose line to the injection nozzle. I have my pump in my front floor board and I squeeze on the exit water line when I see the pump active.

turboglenn, too bad it's not a good idea to put meth in the mail. I'd be buying all I can for that price. . . Maybe flipping it for $7 a gallon too .
