Im trying to install some AMS/Precision injectors pictured here

But they are about 1/4 inch longer than stock installed with the way the insulator is around the plastic cap. This increased length results in the rail overcoming the orings and tearing them causing massive leakage. Not to mention there is also a gap between the rail and spacer where the rail bolts to the head so that they dont even make contact. my question is then, how does anyone else with these injectors have them installed?

Referring to the picture below; Where i drew the turquoise lines is where a rubber cushion belongs and when tightening the fuel rail these cushions collapse. I'm wondering if some custom insulator is needed to fit around the machined lip highlighted in yellow in order to make the injector fit so that its effectively the same length as the stock injectors?

Im posting a second picture as well to show the size difference between stock and pte*take note, those shown in second picture are not stock vs. pte but of what the size difference im encountering because i dont have a stock injector in hand to compare and take a photo of.

Are you using the proper seals? (did they come with those seals?) as I don't believe their correct. Like you mentioned in your second post there should be a rubber, stock style insulator/cushon on the top on the injector & the lower seal should be where you have the yellow drawn. Those lower insulators look like the stockers & I don't believe are the correct size. The older FIC lowers use to be what came factory as the upper insulator & they have since switched to a much nicer viton lower seal, which looks like a factory lower seal but is normally brown in colour & probably abit different size to fit over the enlarged area. If you look at the pic below you will see which style of seal goes where & where they should sit on the injector:

I had the same issue.. I ditched those upper bushings and then they fit fine.

The insulaters in the picture 2 posts up look to be EXACTLY what im looking for. Does anyone have a clue as to where I might be able to source those? And burnett03, did you use a different style insulater around the "pintle" cap or on the ledge above the pintle cap? Also, when bolting down your fuel rail did you notice the rail not seating all the way onto the spacers for the bolts?

*edit: One more thing, those FIC inj.'s pictured above dont have the "pintle" cap like my AMS/PTE inj.'s but rather just a flared lip.

I usually just double up the lower seals (add one where the yellow drawing is in the pic) and instead of using the OEM cushion at the top (green drawing in the pic), I find an o-ring that fits nicely, this lets the injector go into the rail a bit more without crushing anything.

Well we got them in and leak free with the help of Ace Hardware Performance. Found some faucet grommets that were tapered and worked like a charm. They are NOT neoprene though so I'm not sure how they will handle the heat but for now they are holding up great. Can't beat 19cents a pop and orings for 29cents a pop(ARE neoprene). Thanks everyone for their input, now if i could only figure out this 5k rpm hesitation that happens with perfect timing advance and little/no knock hmm...
