If this thread sounds ackward please excuse it. I stretched and bruised the nerves in my neck, on saturday and am on 7.5 with prednizone for the pain and stuff. Anyhow, BEFORE i hurt my neck i was putting my parts back on my reman i had recieved last week. I pulled the my 2G CAS sensor off of my old damaged head and tried to install it on my new head. Problem, the screw would not bolt back in to hold everything down. I started to look more closely and also noticed my head had different casting numbers from the reman. Hopefully i guessing they sent me back a 1G head. ANyhow, i had my old intake cam polished and installed on it so i could use my 2G CAS. Got the belts all back on and timing marks all aligned and checked the oil pump and balance shaft like it said at the VFAQ. ( Machine shop did that part i was to out of it to care). Any how to get to my question i can now bolt my 2G CAS up to the head now but heres the thing. The weird looking thing thats grooved to lign up on the cam in my CAS can go in 2 ways. I am supposing either right or (wrong being 180 degrees out). Anyone know how it goes? Also is there really any way to advance the timing on the 2G cars with the CAS (OR USING STOCK COMPONENTS) mechanically without using some form of an electronic control device. Please let me know something here. Its gonna be a while before i get back to working on my car, like 2 -3 weeks and then physical therapy. I can atleast tell my dad who should be working on it while i am not to do it. Thanks guys..
