I have a 97 gs with an hrc super 16g turbo and full 3in exhaust. I am still running stock injectors (210's i think) but i have some larger ones i haven't put on yet. I was adjusting my boost levels to see how much i could run on the stock ones when I saw my egt basicly shoot way off the scale (scale ends at 1600) this is when the boost was set at 12psi. As i watched the a/f gauge It would run lean while boosting then would go rich when it reached full boost. I was reading somewhere that high egt temp actually has more to do with timing than mixture. I don't know if they meant engine or spark, I have an msd dis2 ignition that i haven't hooked up yet that can adjust the spark time and aem adjustable cam gears. What do i have to do to fix this problem? I dropped the boost back down to about 8psi and the temp stays below 1400.

Don't trust the stock O2 sensor if it's that hot; it's not going to be very accurate.

Looks like you need to keep the boost down until you can add more fuel. Chances are good that you're detonating as well if it's running that hot.

High temperatures can be contributed to by both mixture and timing. In your case, you have far too much turbo for the stock fuel management in that car... keep the boost down and take it easy until you can keep the puppy fed.

I have an au. fuel pump and boost dependent fuel pressure reg. I talked to this performance shop they are going to dyno tune it and check all my adjustments, but i wanted to hold off untill i got the injectors in and finished hooking up my msd dis2. I tried to switched the injectors, but couldn't. I took off everything that the factory service manual said to, and tried to "remove the fuel rail with the injectors" but they wouldn't budge. Everyone that i have talked to said i thought it was just as easy as that, but i couldn't get them off so i just put everything back together to work on later.

Injectors are a good start. 210's or whatever the NA has, are to small for a 16g with any decent amount of boost. Have the dyno use a wideband to see what A/F you are at.
