this kid on my local forum is going to put a T04B on his 3G, all it has is a Injen intake. He doesnt have any internal work but he is gonna put some 450c.c injectors on there and he thinks he will be fast as hell running only 5.5 -7 psi. he said the other guys blew up their engine pushing over 6 psi to thier block . is it just me or do you think something bad is gonna happen. heres a pic of his turbo......

Im guessing the 3g is the 4cyl version??? If it is, that turbo does look kinda big. Then again, I don't know much about those motors.

I say boom! He needs at least those injectors and fuel pump and not to mention some sort of fuel control.

he will never blow it up with 6 psi, well maybe, but that turbo needs to be run at 20+ psi to really be effective. What he should do is put a T-25 on his car for 5-6psi not a T04B..

LOL... he really needs to do some research on turbo tech. First off the turbine flange is way too big. It looks like one of the 1.56 A/R turbines, they use those in V8s and turbo diesels. It just wont work! If you can stuff that on a T3 turbine housing, .63 A/R on the 4cyl, and the .83 A/R on the 6 cyl, that would work better. If he is just looking at 6psi, supercharge it, or stick with an T3. The T4 will just have way too much lag for what he wants out of it. Unless he is going complete drag, drop the turbo and look for something else.

you should trade him yer 14B for that t04... then get yerself a garrett install kit... and then he can HAVE his 4-5 psi... with a turbo that is made for low boost... and you can(with proper tuning, and more mods) clean house on some v-8's

u can clean house on v'8 with a 14b.. but what turbospyder said sounds real good u should talk to the kid for a trade

Mine has a little too much shaft play, to be trading anyone LOL. His is the V6 model. My point is that he is wasting his money on something that big, unless he got it for like 50 bucks, you know? these are his specs on it
T04B
exhaust side is .84
compressor side is .50
compressor inlet is 2.75 inch and the out is 2
he is also running a 1G sidemount intercooler LOL he was bragging his car was over 200 with his little mods and this is his dyno #'s
The eclipse Dynoed at 184.5WHP and 197.5TQ. This is untuned so I guess it not that bad.

The car will stay untuned since the Turbo will be going on soon.

you forgot to add "and tons of money into it" with that cleaning house on a V8 with a 14b comment

I dont know what kind of V8's everyone has around your place but everyone needs to come over and race people from our club I guess. There's only around 5 people (including my car :( , course Im almost stock) that are running 13's, everyone else is between 9s-12s, so far the fastest Camaro that is still street legal is pulling 10.7's on the 1/4 mile on ET streets with only heads a cam and nitrous, and thats without tuning....it was a break in run, there's a Trans Am running 8psi on a Procharger turning out 462rwhp...guesstimating 550bhp (everything else is stock on the car) but he hasnt been to the track yet...on the not smog legal side one car is running a stroked LS1 motor with a 250shot of nitrous and pulling 9.2's at the track (he can still drive it on the street since it looks stock from the outside but it wont pass a sniffer)

everyone needs to just calm down on this blowing away V8's stuff cuz it just doesnt happen if the V8 is modded....everyone remember, there is no replacement for displacement

that car is NORTORIOUSly bad for turboing, a couple companies have done it and are still having trouble with it
you almost have to get like a greddy emanagement or a haltech...

you couldnt just slap the turbo on with innectors and run correctly for long...its just not gunna work that easy

its a 3.0 motor, a 6g72, nothing like its big brother though, nothing at all...its not meant for boost, but some companies are still workin things out, just tell him to get it professionally tuned or else he can say goodbye to his car

theres no way around it
