Any of you guys heard anything about it? I was just browsing the SBR site and see that it's going for $70 and even includes a gauge. It's half the price of the Aeromotive that doesn't include a gauge. I know Megan Racing has cheap exhaust systems that look nice I guess but wondering about this item cause with the fuel system, if the part fails, your motor might just go as well. Opinions? Anything you've heard?

People have said that because it's so cheap, its probably crappy and won't rise 1:1 and may damage your engine but this isn't fair. It's good to note that MR has specifically said NOT to use it on a turbo car as it is not designed for it and may cause damage. Even on their website it says:

Holds user-defined fuel pressure. (NOT A RISING-RATE REGULATOR)

Even with them saying all that, people still ask about it and even use it. It may work fine and may be a good unit and even work correctly with turbos and thats great, its just not fair to call it bad and be worried about its effectiveness on a turbo application when the manufacturer specificially says it's not designed for it.

I bought one and ended up buying an Aeromotive. I read that it was designed for N/A cars such as Hondas. I believe it was from Slowboy Racing, but I have a bad memory. I have also read about some using it with no problems so .......

For the record though, I can say that the gauge is junk. I never even worked. You need something liquid filled if it is going to be in your engine bay.

Talking to GVR4592 a DSM Wiseman on the site, he had told me through a pm that he had a really good experience with it and a car that he helps with has been useing it for almost two years now and it has worked just fine. This is the only real first hand experience I have seen with it I have read a few people have bought it and then decided not to install it becasue the fittings are diffrent from what I understand.

mygsx2120 did you attempt to install it and run it?

I've been using mine for 2 years with no problems. It's 1:1 and works great, it even came with it's own guage and only cost me 30 bucks off of ebay. I compared it to the megan brand and it's exactly the same minus the extra $40 price tag. I'm sure the aeromotive is nicer and higher quality, but at the time I was broke and had to have a regulator and this one has been working just fine.

I just bought this Megan FPR from SlowBoy Racing and Jeff says that it is a 1:1 rising rate FPR. I took mine apart and looked at the internals of it and it was like a thick sheet of plastic or something between the two halvs but seemed pretty sturdy. The gauge came liquid filled installed into the unit already. I'm not too sure about the fuel rail adaptor fittings. I may need to purchase rail adaptors from DSMParts or something. The instructions said nothing about whether or not it was a rising rate but recommended twice to have it 'professionally' installed (whatever that means).

It's not 1:1 rising rate.

Even the Megan Racing website says it isn't. SBR is wrong.

Just for the record, no I never installed it. It looks cheap when you see it in person. I was too scared, as I stated above, the gauge is useless, the ports are small and it is just not as high of quality as the others. Fuel support is something I don't like to mess around with. I wanted to save some money when I ordered, but I just ate my loss once it arrived. Actually I still have it in the garage if someone wants to try it out. $20 shipped with the gauge included. Seriously

Also, I have never heard of any other Megan Racing afpr for turbo cars.

I have been using the Ebay FPR (same as Megan Racing only cheaper) for over 2 years without a problem. I haven't had a chance to push my fuel system to it's max yet, but I will be boosting to 40+ PSI in the next few weeks with my new holset turbo on the dyno. I used this FPR to boost to 24psi daily with my old scm6152e setup and I made 350whp on a dynojet with only 17psi of boost on pump gas. Those numbers were with the old turbo setup along with the ebay FPR, a rewired walbro 255 pump, and 880's injectors. This FPR does have small fittings but the 1:1 adjustment seems to work and it has a built in fuel guage so I can't complain at all considering I paid 30 bucks for it. I'm sure the Aeromotive FPR is a better unit, but at the time when I bought the Ebay FPR I was broke as a joke and couldn't afford it. If I have a problem I will definitely upgrade but so far this regulator has worked great.

So, what I've seen is that everyone who's used it has had good luck with it, working 2+ years in some cases and is rising fuel pressure 1:1; and the people who don't like it are the people who have never used it? Is there anyone who's actualy used it that's had bad luck with it? Does anyone have a link to the one that they bought on ebay?

Why would a vendor of the product I bought lie to me in an email, just to make a dishonest sale so I could bad-mouth his company on the forums? The manifold pressure source is on the top of the regulator and the fuel ports are on the bottom below the plastic sheets. The fuel ports didnt look 'inadequate' to me but then again I havent owned an AFPR before. I just run my car on stock boost/fuel because I am a broke a-- college student with bills.:|

They probably misinformed you because they weren't aware or they don't know what 1:1 rising rate is.

I'm sure they didn't make a killing selling a FPR so I'm sure it's just a mistake, but then again I like to know what I'm selling before I carry the products.

nothing changes the fact that it is NOT a 1:1 rising FPR which is not recommended. For those still using it claiming success, perhaps they just dont know there is something not right..
My FPR is not Megan brand, but at the time that I bought mine I reviewed the specs and pics of it and asked the seller as well as other members on the forums and everyone agreed it was a 1:1 rising rate FPR. This unit appeared to be exactly the same as the Megan Racing model they were selling at the time based on the images and documentation on the Megan Racing website. However, this was 3 years ago, so perhaps Megan Racing is selling a different model now. I was able to dial in a solid 11:1 A/F ratio @ up to 24psi of boost running an SCM61 on a built 2.4 without any problems. I don't think the old generic Megan Racing clone FPR I have is being sold any more on Ebay and the current model Megan Racing regulator is $80 and not verified to be 1:1 so I would just spend the extra 70 bucks and buy the Aeromotive.
