hey guys

I have a little bit of a problem on my hands. My t-25 is about to take a #### on me. It screeches under boost every once and awhile, there's a whine in the engine, and sometimes it studders under boost.

So i have to upgrade :D . I was thinking of one of the 28's probably from fp or agp. My problem is I didn't get all the supporting mods i wanted before this happened. Right now, I have no EGT, injectors or safc. I am definetly going to get a fuel pump before i get the turbo, probably a walboro 190lph.

So, do you guys think that i can run the turbo without the 3 things above? If so, do you think 14-15psi would be too much?

One last thing. My last mod, an apexi gt dp and 3in exhust, gave me a decent amount of boost creep. If i get the turbo ported, would that get rid of it?

Thanks for the help guys

Dan

you can run 14 or 15 psi and be fine. you will obviously have a little more lag on the t28 than with the t25, but 15 psi or so is safe on the fuel system. don't run anything higher until you do then fuel pump and then you can go 1 or 2 psi higher before you get to the limit of your injectors.

My friend was in the same boat-- we put in his AGP T-28 a month or so ago and it seems to spool just like the T-25. The car's just faster now. And he doesn't have injectors or AFC either. Like was mentioned, keep the boost at 15 or lower and you should be fine.

cool

do you think it will get rid of the creep too? I don't know what size flapper the 28 or the 25 comes with so i'm just trying to see.

thanks

Totally agree, especially if you dont have guages to monitor whats going on. I used to run 16psi pretty regularly until I found that on the highway EGT temps fly off the guage at over 1600 F at 16psi. Needless to say I put the stock solenoid in until I got some sort of feul controland larger injectors.

So even with the 190, I shouldn't go over 10 psi? Are the 450cc's that restrictive? Or are you just saying I should do that because i have no egt? I have some support mods, just not everything i would have liked to get before the upgrade

Thanks for the replys guys

Well I am running 255 lph warlboro with the feul pump rewire, my A/F guage shows I am not leaning out but it heats up quick under full boost. I think this really boils down to compressor effeciency, my opinion. With out any feul management it will be hard to tell whats going on.... why I am getting rigorously hot temps in high gear. When I put the solenoid back in and removed the MBC it runs hard at 8-10 psi on the top end. Funny its actually pulling harder than it did with running 15 psi. Now off the line 15 psi will make me choke on my nuts it pulls so hard. On top though it doesnt do so well. I am really considering chucking the ECU for a standalone unit, or get down and really do some studying on compressor efficiency. I would strongly suggest an EGT just to monitor how your engine reacts to high boost. Like I have heard before on this forum... every engine will react differently to mods. With the solenoid in I can peak it to redline and still remain at 1400 deg F @ 11 or so psi.
