How do you adjust cruise control cables?

My car idles OK (around 800-900 rpms w FP3 cams and 900rpm idle set in dsmlink) when you first start it up. However, after the car warms up and you have been driving for a few minutes the idle goes sky high (3krpms or more) and the car seems to pull itself a little when I'm coasting in gear even though I'm not pressing the gas. Dsmlink shows the tps voltage is set properly but my car also only shows 80% throttle when I have the pedal pressed to the floor. I'm pretty sure this is all related to the cruise control affecting the throttle cable but I'm not exactly sure how to fix it. I have a 2g Magnus SMIM on the car and there is no place to mount the cruise control box so it is pretty much just hanging under the intake. I know this is a bad idea :nono: but I don't know where else to mount the damn thing. I know alot of people just sh*tcan the cruise and put a non-cruise cable on, but I would like to keep my cruise control if possible. Can I just take the cruise box with the end that attatches to the TB apart and adjust the cables? If so, how do I do it properly?

I haven't had CC in about 6 years, but I'll try to remember. The cables can be adjusted. The cable coming in to the cuise box has an adjustment to make sure the cruise box gets all of the available pedal travel. Once that's good, you're left with the usual cable adjustment at the manifold. If you are getting full pedal travel at the cruise box, this is done the same way you would adjust a non-cruise cable. Have someone floor the gas pedal, loosen the two bracket bolts at the manifold, pull the jacket back until the throttle is opened fully against the stop, then tighten the bolts. Release the throttle and make sure there is some slack, and that you can't force the plate any more in the closed direction. If this doesn't work, you still aren't getting full travel from the setup.

Also be sure that the TPS isn't adjusted too far "negative." It should just be set to zero but just on the brink of being a 1. This is even more important on a 2g that has the throttle closed switch incorporated into the TPS. You can typically get into the low to mid 90s at WOT with a 2g.
