B&M oil filter relocation & oil cooler

Anybody have experience with this particular kit? It relocates the oil filter, then has the cold/hot oil lines feed where the filter used to be.

The 90 oil filter housing swap seems to be the popular path, but this looks a lot simpler, so would it be good way to go?

I dont like the idea of hose and clamps.. Maybe if it was AN fittings it'd be ok but its just held on by clamps, so no.

Unless you have a 6 bolt you can not use the 90 filter housing. Also they don't show what they are useing to hook up to the filter housing with. Is it included?

Well there's somebody here who uses a certain size of coolant hose, but good point about the clamps. You think it'd make sense to adapt AN fittings if there's a place to thread themm in?

Do you know who sells that? In a thread found in a search, Defiant said that with those its good to keep the water/oil stock cooler in place as well, because it helps warm up the oil, maybe he can chime in on that since it was a 2-year-old post.

and you've got a 7-bolt external oil cooler setup.

I already have a core, so I'll be getting the thermostat sandwich plate, the brackets, and lines. The stock heat exchanger, I assume can go? That should leave room for the sandwich plate, which should take over the thermostat duties of the heat exchanger. Thead size, according to ExtremePSI's listings, is M20 x 1.5. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I use a barbed fittings with hose clamps with no problems. my oil pressure is to high and nothing blew or looks stressed. The same B&M kit your talking about...

I know it's on eBay but has anyone tried anything like this? Everything looks to be ok aside from the plate. Looks kinda complicated.

With that sandwich plate thermostat adapter, its a 180* unit, which seems to be in the lower half of the safe oil temp range.

A thermostat is for keeping temperature up, not an indication of what the system will run at.

You're putting too much thought into this situation. Hook it up, you'll be fine.
