aftering connecting the hoses to the upper and lower nipple of the bov i noticed after a while that the top nipple seemed to be burning a hole in the rubber hose (specifically the tip of the nipple is where the burn hole occured). i later replaced my hoses with yellow silicon ones and the same thing happened. is there a way to prevent this so that i dont get any leaks of some sort. thanks and merry xmas.

So you are saying leave the top nipple disconnected, and just connect the vacuum/boost line to the bottom nipple?

Is this the correct way to connect?

thanks

no the top nipple connected and the bottom one unplugged, you dont really need the bottom unless you are running a lot of boost and are leaking. Either way just adjust it to your needs, the BOV should hold plently of boost with the top port only, mine hold 20psi fine

The upper nipple needs to be connected in order for your BOV to function properly. The lower one, which I take it, is the one that connects back to your intake, does not need to be connected. However, the only thing you will notice is your car running rich for a second or so while the BOV is open. Typical, and easy to live with.

Yeah, and you almost know what you're talking about. The upper AND lower nipples need to be connected for the Greddy to function properly. Without them connected you will find that you will have compressor surge between shifts.

What is the secret to setting the Greddy type S BOV. I keep getting compressor surge at low boost levels. I tried with both nipples connected and then with just the top connected, both= same result. One thing that I did notice was since it started getting cold here in the Northeast, the compressor surge is more noticable. I am not sure if the cold is relevant though, but i thought I would mention it.

Anyone with a Greddy, let me know how you set it and if you get any compressor surge at low boost levels. The sure is a major PIA.

thanks

how many times will this come up? LOL :) lower nipple disconnected according to greddy specifications. It serves as a vent for the upper chamber of the BOV. Upper nipple connected to TB vacuum line. dump connected to dump tube (unless you wanna vent, which i dont recommend as the greddy when adjusted right can give a nice long chirp while still in a closed air circuit).

Does anyone have the greddy instructions online. I didnt get my bov new so I dont have the intructions.
