Greddy Type-S Help!!!

I just installed a Greddy upper and lower I/C pipe kit and a Greddy Type-S BOV. I set the adjustment screw to almost totally soft and took it for a test drive. As soon as I took off, I noticed that I was hitting almost 20psi (before it was only 13psi). I thought buy setting the screw to all the way soft would reduce the amount of boost it would hold. I did notice that the vacuum line (connected to the top nipple) is slightly loose and leaking. I think this may be the problem because it would add pressure to the top of the plate preventing it from coming open. Any other suggestions??? Thanks...
 
Are you running a boost controller? Your Profile still says "stock". If you have some emans of turning down the boost, via a boost controller, I suggest you try that first. In general, modifications that decrease the restriction in the intake or exhaust will increase boost.

The problem started tonight when I hooked up my new Greddy BOV. I am dynoing my car in two days for a project that I am working on and I need to have the problem fixed by then (so I don't blow anything up).

AFAIK, with larger IC piping you are gonna be generating more PSI even if you don't have an MBC/EBC. I left my GReddy on default and I'm hitting about 12psi. Mine will spike at 19 on some shifts, but if you've got a leak, then I would say that's the culprit.
 
I fail to understand the reasoning behind the idea that a leaking BOV (or BOV vaccum hose) can cause an increase in boost.

If I understand the Greddy design, which seems to be similiar to the OE 1G BOV, except adjustable, it uses positive pressure to increase the BOV's resistance. With a leaking vac/press source this positive pressure in the BOV under boost would cause it to bypass air prematurely, causing a decrease in boost. The BOV does, in no way, regulate boost. It's there simply to eliminate compressor surge durring lift throttle shifts, or deceleration, and to look mad tyte yo ;)

My suggestion to the original poster: Get a REAL boost gauge, as the stock one is extremely innacurate post modification, then get a boost controller and adjust boost pressure as necessary.

i have mine set on hard is that right or should i have it set different ? here are my mods
Injen intake, Greddy Type-S Bov, Upper I/C pipe, Mach V 2.5 down pipe, Manual boost controller<Taken off>,Test pipe,O2 dump housein ,190 walbro fuel pump, Agp T28 Turbo Ported, Custom Turbo N-1 Cat back Exhaust, Ported Header and im only pushing 13 psi for now till i get the Greedy Boost controller .....should i have mine set soft or in the middle ?
 
I noticed yesterday when I was doing a pressure test that if both nipples on the Greddy Type S BOV are connected, the BOV will leak by at 10 psi. So I did a test and disconnected the bottom nipple of the BOV, and then I had NO leak by at all. So, I believe what was happening was that having both connections hooked up equalize the pressure across the BOV. When the pressure is equalized you are then relying on the spring in the BOV for control. I could be wrong, so if I am please correct me.

Anyone know the reason for the two connections on the BOV?

the reason the boost increases is because there is no regulation in air compression and boost relief from the BOV, so if the hose is loose, put a zip tie on it , and check all your hoses, and piping, you may have not tightened down the IC pipes all the way and your getting a leak somewhere in there
