This past weekend I had my local garage put on a new timing and balance belt - THAT'S IT. Now I go pick it up today and when the car is turned on, it feels as if the MAS is unconnected. I check, but it's all connected. My data logger has always spit out a 1109 code (I THINK that's what it is at least, I don't have it right infront of me). They hook up their own logging device to it and it says the MAS is faulty. Any reason why all of a sudden my MAS would die on me when I'm having belts replaced??? Seems too suspicious for me to be happy about.

Check that the timing marks line up. Or make them show you. I don't see how the problems could be related though.

They should give you a better description than a faulty MAS. Ask them specifically what is wrong with it.

Worst case you need a new MAS 50-60 bucks used.
