5 Gallon Methanol/Fuel Drums

I'm trying to find a long-term durable 5 gallon drum to store my methanol. I can't find any on froogle... or anywhere else for that matter. Anyone know where I can get one?

I've thought of reusing the metal cynlinder cans that race gas comes in but the plastic pullout surrounding the cap deteriorates over time making it basically a one-time use container.

hey if you are in the bay area you can go to the same place i bought my methanol and container.

ERC racing fuels on lewelling blvd in san lorenzo is where i bought my methanol. Its like $16 for 5gal of methanol and like another 16 or 17 for the can, but its a good, metal can with a metal screw in cap. So the first time you go its like $35 bucks and everytime after that its only 15-16 bucks to fill your can back up. Id also look into asking them if they have some sort of screw in spout for the 5-gal can because i made a huge mess the first time i poured methanol out of that can. IT comes out of the hole, onto the lip of the can and goes EVERYWHERE! you have to first pour it into a smaller 1-gal or so gas can and then pour it into whatever reservior you are storing the methanol in you car. Buy yourself a variety of funnels for this if you dont already have them.

If they dont have some sort of screw in spout for the can ask them if they know where to get one because im interested! Ive only went through a couple of gal's of methanol before i found a weak spot in my motor and blew it so i havent looked back into the methanol for a while because my car is back to stock for smog. But once its smogged the mods come back on and the methanol gets sprayed again and turns my piss water 91 octane into fun "boost juice".

16 bucks for 5 gallons??? That's only 3.20 a gallon. Wow. Damn, I wish I were in the Bay still. I'm down in LA for the break. Looks like I'll pick up a metal container when I go back for break. Its 3.80 a gallon here. Anyone know anywhere else that sells drums?

Go to Pep Boys and pick up a "syphon tube." You put one end in the drum, the other in the refill hole of the reservoir and you can syphon the fluid through cleanly. It's hard to explain how it works but its pretty ingenious.
