alright this is a two part post.
- -I have a 91 TSI and i have a leak from what look to be the front case.
- The leak isnt REALLY bad but enough to annoy the hell outta me. It only leaks when the ca is running so i know its pressure related. i tried tightening up the front case bolt and all are to spec. But if i wipe all the oil off the oil pump and the oil filter and anywhere else it is after about 10 min of idle or 2 min of driving it comes back dripping. any suggestions?
the 2nd part
- if i am running hard(ex. over 4k shifts and hard on the gas) when i stop theres nothing strange, but if i wait about a min or two i start smoking. I poped the hood and it looks like its coming from the MANIFOLD(exhaust), i looked closer and there is burnt oil residue by the o2 sensor hole and a little on the manifold cover. ALSO, along with this my 14b seems as tho its not boosting as hard as it was, it the engine is cold it boosts great but once everything is warmed up it seems as though the turbo is losing its pressure. Now im assuming that i may have blown a gasket IN the turbo, and maybe the oil by the o2 sensor and coming off the manifold is from that, but i dont find any oil residue in the pipe going to the IC. IM a little stumped on where it could be burning off from. If it DOES sound like the turbo let me know. Untill then ill be grannying along, so if anyone in chicago land sees a red 91 talon with a gimpy passenger flip-up, show me some love.
