I need a new headgasket and i don't want to get a factory one put in because i want to push higher boost in the near future and i want one that will hold. Does anybody have an opinion on the cometic or HKS 1mm headgaskets? I wanna know some personal experiences and which one is better. Money is not an issue.

Stock Headgasket's have been proved to 708whp on coltboostins colt.
Cometic MLS headgasket

Both are ok choices, make sure when you take it out, replace with arp head studs.

I like a factory gasket designed with daily driving longevity in mind so I chose the Mitsubishi MLS. As long as both surfaces are prepped properly, you have ARPs and a good tune, either gasket should hold just fine for you.

A lot of people swear by the stock composite gasket with an O-ringed block. If you have the block out and can get this done I would look into this option as well.

Oh and p.s delete your other thread you made.

Yeah, I agree. I just posted a reply to it. Guess that I will repost to this one so you can delete the other one.

I would go with the cometic head gasket. We put one on my buddies talon after he blew his stock one and it worked great. You can't beat it for the price either. You can pick them up for under 100 bucks and they will hold whatever you throw at them (as long as it's under 30 pounds of boost) He ended up making 330 whp and 350 wtq at 19 pounds on a 16G and the stock sidemount without any problems with the head gasket.

That's definately what I am going to be going with when I pull my head of next time. Good luck with the gasket swap.

I am running ARP head studs and a Fel-Pro (or similar company) head gasket. It's holding just fine. I did not have the motor our when I was reassembling it, so decking the block was out of the question. Without decking the block and head, the Cometic will not seal right. And if I remember correctly, you need to have the machine shop deck a little more than normal to compensate for the Cometic's thickness.

I think you'll be fine with a stock gasket with ARP's, but that's just my opinion.
