I have a 6bolt 2.3 Stroker, do I still use the same oil capacity as a 2.0, or is it different because it is a 2.3?. Also I was reading the vfaq and for a 6bolt turbo it says it holds 4.4L (2.0L NT and T engines); the oil filter holds about 0.4L, and the oil cooler (if present) 0.3L. Now is the 4.4 including the filter and the cooler or would it be 5.1 with the filter and the oil cooler?

Thank You,
-Brian

I'm not so sure its all that big of a deal. Just put 4 quarts in. Prime the turbo, pump and cooler. Then check your oil. It SHOULD be low if what you are saying is correct. Once it's all primed and you've topped her off again. Start her up. Let her run for a min. Shut her down for about a half hour(IF you want to be accurate), check it again and add if necessary.

That would be how I would do it. But I mean thats what the dipstick is there for. It tells you when shes full and low.

Also, all a 2.3 is, is a bigger slug in the engine. It SHOULDN'T affect your oil capacity. So to answer your question. YES it should be the same.

The oil capacity is the same for the 2.3L as it was for the 2.0L. The 4.4Qts, is not including the filter, or oil cooler. I would add 5 Qts, then prime the turbo, the oil should go down a little now that the lines are full, then check to see what your oil level is at, and then had some more if need be. Also if you dont know how to prime the turbo here you are: First, pull the 20 amp MPI fuse(its marked moteur) from the underhood fuse box, then crank the motor over in 10 second incriments for 3-4 times to prime your turbo, then re-insert the fuse, and start your car.

Unfortunately I have been running about a qt low for the past few days. I just checked the oil level and it was about a qt low, wasn't sure if I lost oil or if I just didnt put enough in. I should have double checked the day I put it in, but I forgot too. I know I didn't put enough in now because I only put in a gallon (4qts) when I did the oil change.

I was just looking for a solid number for when I did oil changes. I am not running an oil cooler so it looks like it is 4.8qt's. For oil changes I will add 4.5 and then add more later if needed.

Thanks Again,
-Brian

Oil capacity is how much the oil pan (and, things like the cooler and filter, or other passages that might contain oil when the motor's off) holds. Engine displacement isn't related to it. As said, just go by the mark on the dipstick.
