I have chance to buy a nitrous kit for under $200 in perfect working order and all the hoses and all. But I have a 1997 GS-T with next to stock engine. Just a simple intake and exhusat. I have all the gauges as well (Turbo, Oil Pressure, Watertemp etc..) But can I safely run Nitrous and my Turbo without doing damge to my car?? The kit comes with adjustable nozzles from 25 shot to 200. Not sayin I'll go that high, but I don't want to do any damage to my car but would still like to spray some juice. Any help or sugestions would be great. Lates:dsm:

you should be ok, as long as your car is tuned well and it's a wet kit.

nah I think its a dry kit, sprays in through he intake manifold. Its tuned fine and jus got head gasket replaced, valve job and all, but heard that it would be puttin to much pressure on the stock engine. I just puller her out of the sho with a bill of $1,700 so I don't want her to go back in just cause I want to do a 25 shot. ANybody else??

Injectors have nothing to do with nitrous. The only time they even come into play is on a dry nitrous kit. And even in this case the additional fuel is added via an increase in fuel pressure.

I was just tryin to figure out if I small 25 shot during a 1/4 run would do damage running stock parts and stock boost levels. If so, what about spray the no2 in through the intercooler to prevent heat soak. Is that safe or does that cause problems as well. i'm gettin the no2 get for $150 now, I want to know if I shuold grab it or not

damn at that price even if you decide not to use it you could resell it for a profit, what kit is it?

I'm new to the eclipse's, but it seems to me that a 25 shot of n2o could hardly do any damage to a car that is in good working order (considering you don't run lean of course) and from what i understand about most cars as long as you dont add more then 30% of your stock power you should be ok (but the more you add the more you need to retard timing)but if you get it just make sure you get all the failsafes you can (window switch, fuel pressure safety switch, WOT switch). If you don't use those failsafes then you will most likely do some engine damage eventually (especially if you up the jet sizes)

again don't take my word for it, I'm new

i set up a 40 shot dry nos(brand) kit into a 96 civic dx auto 4dr that ran 16's stock after the kit it ran low 15's it wasn't really fast but it was a good starting point. (the guy was just tired of ex, and si owners always talking crap)

he still runs the kit, and hasn't had any problems.

25 shot is way safe...anything above 50 and i would reccomend picking up a wet fogger nozzle, another selenoid, and nessary plumbing to connect to the feul line. a T or tap the end of the feul rail.

nos has an even easier way to direct port your engine( without all the tapping, screwing, anf removal of intake manifold) they now have the nossle? it goes between the injector, and the injector port on the head
sooo much easier you could safely add a 100 shot no problem with out worrying about a cyclinder going lean and getting hot ie:melting plugs, and pistons.

i've used n2o for a while, and installed quite a few kits.
( the retailer i buy my kits from has n2o on his seadoo's)

Well heres a thought, buy a 75$ manual boost controller and still have 75$ left and always have the extra power on hand, also not worrying so much about blowing somthing up. You have a Turbo car, take advantage of the fact it is made to handle boost, not N2o. You can make more power by buying a 75$ Dave Brode uicp, there now you have spent all 150$ and you are getting way more for your money. you asked for opinions, thats mine. happy boosting

thanks, i know how to do the manual boost and all but I just want to be able to run nitrous. All i really wanted to know was if it was going to blow up anything or cause damage with a small 25 shot.

yeah you shoudl be ok with a 50 shot dry on your car just watch your boost. A 50shot is like 5 extra psi of boost it will pull up your fuel pressure about 25psi or so. Your injectors will handle that no problem. Like i said watch your boost. What happens is nitrous creates so much power quickly that it spools your turbo instantly but it creates more pressure in your exhaust manifold than you have in your intake manifold causing boost creep. If your running higher boost like 17psi it could shoot you upto 23psi or so plus the 50shot then your in trouble.

Keep your boost stock at 11psi (or 13 or whatever it is) and spray just the 25 shot to start (should be like a .28 or .30 jet) and watch your boost gauge. Up it to say a .32 but no higher and see what happens. I ran a dry kit to 100hp on my VR before switching to 125hp direct (which was wayyyyyyyyy more than a 25hp increase considering my 1/4 times went from 13.1 to 12.5)

Good luck let us know how it goes. BOOOOMMMMM no just kidding.. LOL ;)

thanks a lot guys thats what I need to know, I got the kit for $135 now and going to get it all hooked up and running this week. Anybody know how much horsepower that will jump it to with a 25 shot or what kind of times I can expect to run (engine is next to stock)? Thanks again guys
