Options when buying FMIC question.

Okay, I am about to purchase my fmic in a week or so. THey have an option to select stock IM or Magnus IM. I have a stock IM for now,and probably going to for a while.

The question I have is if I get the option for the stock IM, what will I have to change or buy when I upgrade to a Magnus?? I was thinking only the throttle body elbow.

Im pretty sure that a smim will move the tb from the stock position a little bit.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. Thats why I thought the only difference is the throttle body elbow.

If possible, give the FMIC vendor a call and find out for sure.

Couldn't call, because I am at work, so I sent them an email.

I'll post back what they tell me. But if any others have an opinion on whats the difference in the options, I'll be glad to here it.

The Magnus changes the location of the TB. Depending on the FMIC setup you may just need a different TB elbow if you swap manifolds or you may need a whole new upper IC pipe.

It will move it a little but its not that big of a difference, if anything, youll end up doing a little welding to make it fit, nothing major.

Oh okay, now I understand more why you need to select which IM you have.

Heres what they said:

The throttle body locations are different if you have a Magnus intake manifold. It is lower and further back. You will need a new set of piping if you get a Magnus intake.

So I guess I will have to get a new set of piping, if I plan to get a Magnus SMIM.
