I am assembling my turbo and such on my 1G block. I am using a 2g manifold. When I go to test fit the turbo, it hits the water pipe, but not in the spot that dsm perf says. Mine hits on the part coming off the water pipe, which is welded on and can't be dented. Anyone else have this type issue?

Thanks,

That is the bracket that hold the water pipe in place. The pipe can still be dented. That's is where I have my dented as well.

I am not speaking of the bracket, but the piece that comes off the bottom of the water pipe, directly below the bracket, where your stock coolant line for the turbo screwed in.

i had the same problem as you. you do not want to bang on the lower water neck. you must have the to4e housing. for what you paid for you're turbo setup, dont cut corners on the installation. i purchased a .500 manifold spacer from www.turbosystem.com to move the whole turbo and manifold forward for clearence take a look.

now look at how close the comp housing is to the water pipe with the spacer plate.
