well, I bought these components awhile back, and they have been just sitting ever since.

The other morning I welded up the hangers for the muffler since I have a welder I am borrowing temporarily...gotta use it while I can right?

well its gonna be a 3.5" cat back with a magnaflow muffler, and a dynomax bullet muffler as a resonator. the tip is like a R.E. amemiya... with a slight turn down in the same diameter as the piping.

here is a pic of the muffler in place. I kinda tried to keep it up and in as far as possible so it didnt look to "coffee can" like.

A little to big if you ask me.... 3inch is plenty good enough....

may I ask why the extra half inch??

car looks great by the way

Looks like it is tucked up in there pretty good. Good job. Personally, I wouldn't put that flowmaster in line until I hear what the exhaust sounds like with just the magnaflow. Magnaflows are good at cutting down the dBs.

A better question is "why not?" There are many unnecessary things that we do to our cars. Why?... most of the time the answer is "because I can".

Thanks for the comments! both good and bad are welcome. and yeah, why not? LOL

I actually got the idea from a member here, swordfish something, I cant remember his username..... THANKS!

finally welded most of the 3.5" pipe together with the resonator too. had to use the angle cut and weld together because i dont have a bender, and i didnt want spend more and order bends.

my fiance actually made one of the hangers for me and welded it to the pipe, i did the measurements, but she cut the metal rod, bent it with a vice and hammer, and welded it.

all that is left is to weld the final straight pipe that goes to the end of the down pipe, and put a flange on it... then grind down the welds a bit to make them look a little nicer. once i get the welds ground down i will post pics of how it is now, because i wont be able to finish it for awhile. gotta have an engine and turbo in place to get the final piece done right.

I don't have a mandrel bender so I used the 3.5" bends off a Ford F350 diesel tailpipe to compensate.I still used a piece of 3" for the center pipe.Lemme tell you that 3.5 downpipe looks pretty phat. The 3" flex tube fit perfectly up to the downpipe.Ran my intermediate(center pipe)Then added the second 3.5 bend I cut for the underaxle to muffler.Just extra parts I had laying around....budget DSMers

Well, I was taking a couple of pics of the relocated steering pump so I figured I would get the updated pics of the exhaust while I was at it.

There isnt gonna be anymore pics for awhile now because I cannot finish it until my engine is built, and i get a turbo. Thats gonna be a few months at least down the road so enjoy these for now.

Still gotta grind down the welds a bit but you can see how it looks now.
