Has anyone else used the SBR kit to install their 16g? I am at the point where I'm putting it all together and I think the J pipe they sent me is flanged wrong. It mates up to the turbo just fine but I think the angle the flange is welded on is wrong because the pipe shoots down pretty much right in front of the turbo inlet. Anyone have any experience with this? I'll be calling SBR as soon as I'm done with this post.

I don't think the ebay hard intake pipe is the culprit because it has the exact shape of the oem rubber intake. I also did a test fit of the lower intercooler pieces and definitely looks like it shouldn't be shooting down in front of the turbo inlet. My j pipe actually doesn't point perpendicularly to the ground, it points down and away from the radiator.

It should come off the outlet and turn and point straight down not anywhere near the inlet... I think you got a faulty peice.....

Have you tried installing the intake yet? When I was running that style of jpipe it did touch my injen intake, which is normal because you need to have rad fan clearance but it shouldn't be so far back that it actually covers the intake. Like I said try to put your intake on & go from there. I have seen another post where the jpipe that the guy bought from slowboy wasnt welded properly.

I just finished sending SBR an email, since calling them was no good. I've asked them to overnight me a new one at their cost, and I will return the faulty piece once I have the new one. I need this car on the road ASAP because it is my only car.

I test fit the intake and the intercooler pipes together and it is definitely faulty. It looks like it the flange should have been rotated to clockwise maybe 10 degrees or so. All the pipes line up correctly with all pieces in place, except of course the flange on the j pipe isn't aimed properly.

Thanks for the input guys.

Anytime bro :thumb: . My j pipe is perfectly in line with the edge of the compressor cover no where near the inlet. And its the sbr one aswell. The only difference is my turbo is a b16g ;)

heres a pic of the SBR pipe on my 14b. everything lined up well for me. best of luck.
