Considering ditching the 1G BOV for the Type RFL. I've never actually heard it but all the ads say this thing is loud. I want something that will catch peoples attention but does this BOV sound absurd or good?? One person I have talked to says it's actually a deep 'woosh' sound instead of the high pitch 'whistle' sound that you hear from most BOV's. That's exactly the sound I want but I'd like to get more opinions before I put forth the money for one. Any comments are appreciated...

Here is a page with a couple of differant bov sounds.. the RFL is at the bottom... just a word of advice though, I was going to get the RFL and acutally I think I have changed my mind.... too many bad things being said about venting to the atmosphere... I am pretty sure I am going to go with the TurboXS Type H-34... which is pretty much the same thing without the horn.. and it can plug into your intake if you have problems venting to the atmosphere... Just my 2 cents... oh here is a pic...

I have one on my car and I can tell you at 18-19 PSI it sounds like the loudest whip cracking I've ever heard. No sneeze of whistle just a crisp noise like a whip cracking.

Later,

i had one on my 94 tt supra and it was the loudest one i have ever heard, but i put one on my talon and the vent to atmosphere(typr h-rfl)) bad it run inconsistant and rich. i would recommend sacrifycing noise for tunability w/ a recirculating bov that won't make the car run rich.

just my 2 cents

i just have never experienced someone who was venting to atmosphere that didn't run rich, if that can be somewhat suppressed at all or even none it still sounds f'in great and to many is worth the sacrifice

Who has a 2 g with a after market bov????? I have the stock but need a new one, but dont know what to pick up. I need noise, some noise, I would love an rfl but not if my car will run like crap. My stock makes a decent amout of noise,A nice wistle to catch a hondas ears. I was told by my friend that the stock 2g bovs are near silent and that mines broke because it toots its sh!t. Is he full of crap or is he right?

And more importantly, which bov is the loudest that dumps back to the inlet???? Has any one seen the go fast bits bov that dumps back and atmospheric?
