I will be running a JM Fab intake this season, with a Ford TB flange.

I have had bad luck with Ford TB's in the past, as with others @ over 30 psi. I have broken BBK's and stock 5.0 units.

I was wondering what TB's people have had luck with, and if anyone had run he cheap Ebay units with any sucess.

The people I know who also use tham have good luck with the Ford racing and Accufab unitls, but I would like to save the 100$ is at all possible. Let me know what you guys have used.
 
Ford Motorsports. JM Fab picked my up as a sponsor, so I had room to spend the 200$ on the only TB that WONT break.

I don't stay 100% up to date on the accufab TB's, but I seem to recall that the reason they were snapping shafts was due to too stiff of a spring in the BOV. Most of the guys that had issues were running TiAL bovs and using a spring stiffer than what TiAL recommended for their vac@idle.

'Course, most of the ford TBs have the halfshaft on the throttleplate as opposed to a full one, since N/A engines don't see tons of pressure on the plate like you do.
 
I use a 75mm MAC TB I bought new off of Ebay($150) and have ran for 2 years over 30 psi and no problems. The MAC TB has a full shaft not cut down like the Accufabs, for those who are interested.

What turbo is that by the way?
 
It's pretty easy to tell what turbo it is from looking at it, I bet the spool isn't as bad as most people would thing.
 
If coltboostin doesn't mind me saying what turbo I think it is, then I will.

You're right, it's obvious; secret!!! Not everyone tells the whole world what the trims are on their turbos or everyone would probably be using it.

It's not my car, so it's not my place to say. I can tell what turbo it is by looking at the picture, almost anybody could identify that turbo by doing some research.
 
I just asked the guy what turbo it was not what trim or even anything detaild just what turbo it is. If he doesn't want to tell me he won't no big deal I was just curious I didn't need smart ass remarks like " You should know do some reserach" :rolleyes: It's a side view of a turbo with a huge exhaust side and a V-band setup that could be a million turbos.
