Well as some of you may or may not know,I attempted to install my fuel pump last weekend, and broke the fuel line coming out of the sending unit and 5 of the 6 studs holding the cover on to the tank.

I have looked all over for gas tanks and sending units with no real success.

Instead of ghetto rigging mine to work, is anyone using a fuel cell instead of their gas tank? I like the idea of being able to run a smaller, lighter cell instead of the stock tank.

So if anyone is running a fuel cell, please speak up. Like how did you install it, any problems?

Thanks alot,
Shane

i am planning on the build of a TSI AWD 1g, and i also would like to know some info on the fuel cell. i am think of not having the stock tank and throwing a fuel cell in my hatch. my car is going to be gutted completely and im hopin on running in the 12's low 13's. any info would help me as well.

Well if your goal is only low 13s/high 12s there is really no need to go and gut the car/get a fuel cell. I mean the less weight will make it easier, but its not necessary.

My car used to run mid 13's with nothing except a K&N filter, 3" catback and boosting at 15 psi. All you need to do is practice your driving skills.

My goal at the moment is to make a 12 second pass with stock 14b, stock intercooler, stock injectors, and stock cams. I know my car is capable of this the way it sits now. If it were running that is, LOL.

But I have been researching fuel cells and it seems to me that it would be quite a bit of work, and it could get pretty expensive. Check out this link, http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=215535&highlight=fuel+cell.
