Im looking for a 1 peice UICP for a 2G car, Id prefer not to have all the connections if possible. I have seen multiple pipes of this style in the past but did not have a 2G then so never much worried about it.
At this point ive ruled out the dejon due to the pathetic flanges they used on the TB connection. The greddy kits not bad but I do not need a lower pipe, its costly and has a few multiple connections. The RRE pipe is nice and has a normal thick flange. Maybe its just me but id prefer the least # of connections possible. Ive searched around but have not gotten much out of it. Any ideas or opinions?

If you don't like any of the options on the market, just build your own. Get some mandrel bends off ebay or a performance store and get/make the flanges and weld it up or have somebody else weld it for you. It'd probably be cheaper anyway

Yes I could order some bends, cut them all up and have them all welded up. Thats not a problem but right now I dont have ton of free time and timef or the car to be apart. So I think id prefer to order one.

part of the reason the use multi piece pipes is so that the couplers can absorb some movement of the engine.

The 1G pipes have different routing (albeit slightly) than the 2G units. We have very tight space constraints from passing under the fuse box and joining to the intercooler. I have a Buschur UIP and I've been very satisfied with the design. Your only other option is to have one mandrel bent and custom fabbed.

Note that the RRE pipe only goes from stock sidemount location to the bov. It does not go all the way to the throttle body.

I think alot of why they don't have a one piece is because of the space on the 2g's. Back when I was running a smic I found one on Ebay that worked well. It was one piece from the smic to the tb elbow & then also included a new tb elbow. It defently wasn't the cheepest one out there but I liked the design best vs others ones I had seen on the market. Right now I can't be much help as I can't remember who it was made by but I'll see if I can find a link or dig up the receipt.

In regards to the RRE unit, they have 2 parts, the lower and the upper. To make it complete you need the upper which replaced the TB elbow with a larger unit and a bit of pipe. The 2 parts are then connected by either the stock rubber being cut down a lot and just using the 90 degeree bend OR an aftermarket silicone one.

As far as the Buschur, it does look nice but its costly. Also is that a 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 since I did not see it listed and I know bushur had a lot of 2 1/4 unless you had the short route pipes for a FMIC.

Again I know its not going to make that much of a difference but its just one of those things if im buying it I wanted to locate specifically what I want. Plus since I made a lower already with the J pipe and a 90 degree 2.25 inch pipe I dont want to get parts that I dont need.

The greddy kits around $200-220, the RRE is $155 (both sections), dejons ruled out... I do appreciate all your input here guys. Im still on my search to locate one, or if I come across a good deal on a used one that could sway my decision. Yes the 2Gs have tighter engine bays however ive removed some unessentail things (for example the cruise control stuff since when I put my 6 bolt in it kinda destroyed it :shhh: )

Thanks!

BTW, the buschur UICP is 2.25". I dont know if they have re-designed it with a larger diameter (I doubt it).

I just checked into the Extreme Pipe...

The price is not current, call Donnie to check the proper much lower price.

That one pretty much looks the same as the unit I origionally used (posted above). Mine just came with standard rubber hose couplers & worm gear clamps (which I upgraded). I think it was about $170 shipped up here to Canada, that was for a powder coated one. He also can do just a high temp paint for I think it was someting like $150. It was 2.25" as well.

Another question is, does anyone offer a LICP for 2g's that is a full 2.5 all the way? Dejon's is 2.25 but you can get it to expand to 2.5 for the I/C. Why can't you get it 2.5 or 2 at the turbo end? Nobody makes a 2.25 inch to 2 inch silicone pipe coupler.

I want to be able to use a 2" to 2", or 2" to 2.5".
