Questions about Compressions

I just talked to a buddy of mine (cause i'm building my motor) and he said that i should go with high compression pistons, but i was thinking about going with a low compression piston and also spraying about a 35 shot. He said that with the high compression pistons, I hit boost sooner and i don't have to push the boost up too high. I just want to know the details about which piston you would prefer. And if you know of any sites that sell Eagle Rods for a cheap price let me know. And also a site for the pistons I was thinking either JE or Weisco, but if there are better suggestions i'll go with them.

The most common compression ratios for DSMs are 8.5:1 to 9.0:1. 9:1 is about the high limit you want for a street turbo car. The stock 2G pistons are 8.5:1, and the 2G piston/big 1G rod combo is very popular and very strong (that's what I use, and it's an excellent setup for a fast street car). You can get forged pistons in almost any CR you want. I say stick with the common ratios and you can't go wrong. Higher compression will give you quicker spool time, but you will have to sacrifice high boost levels or the ability to run on pump gas.
