i have been thing about making a fuel cooler for my car and just wondering if anyone has done thing befor.

im thinking it would help make more power with pumped gas.

It seems in theory to work but are the gains (if any) worth it? If you tried to run it like an oil cooler you need to make sure you keep the fuel pressure up so you don't starve the engine. We need an expert on thermo-crap.

I too thought about doing this. the muscle car guys saw gains using them but im not sure if we could or not. basicly just metal fuel tubing coiled in a can that you fill with icewater.

heres a couple links for anybody who doesnt know what im talking about. These are NOT useable on our cars because they aren't for high pressure fuel injection setups.

My brother and I ran one of those Moroso "cool cans" on our 68 Firebird back in the day, but was more to help prevent vapor lock (low pressure fuel on carborated engines) that a performance thing :rocks:

Might just have to search for formulas to see how much gasoline heats up w.r.t. pressure and pump efficiency to see just what we're looking to cool (20psi + 42base FP = 62psi increase in pressure) :dsm:
